Doubt it. Original is far more comic accurate then this one.

I love the sculpt of the base and Lady Death herself. But one small thing that irks me to no end is the snath of her scythe. I just find it to be too thin. No scythe of that size should have such a thin snath. I think it would look better overall if it is thicker.

Personally, I just don't think that plays as big a role with these kinds of characters as it does with the really popular characters like Catwoman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl etc. When it comes to the bad girl market, as long as its a great statue and its a sexy representation of the character, it will be popular and sell well. In other words, I think overall sexiness/quality trumps comic accuracy with these kinds of characters.

From what I have seen on a couple of different forums, this statue seems to be splitting the field, with roughly half liking the original better and half liking the new one better. If that is truly an accurate representation of the overall opinion on this piece, that could definitely put a dent in the originals value.

Not to mention, this is a pretty accurate representation of the a lot of newer comic covers we have seen come out of Lady Death in the last couple of years.

I'm tempted to sell my old Lady Death and get this one instead, but I really like the cape and the hour glass of the previous one. The pose is more like the character and is a whole lot sexier. I will consider getting it if the number is low.
