Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Leviathan (2014) - In a Russian coastal town, Kolya is forced to recruit a lawyer friend to help fight the corrupt mayor when he is told that his house will be demolished.
Well-done David vs. Goliath story. Hard-working Kolya has a young son and beautiful wife and his old army buddy lawyer has evidence of the mayor's corruption that can make him back off from taking over Kolya's property. What could go wrong? 9/10

Kingsman 8/10 really fun movie, worth seeing in the theater. I liked the nod to the comic book by who played the professor.

Second viewing for this one and first post cinema. Still a solid animated film my girls love. Having said that I was actually bothered it won the best animated film Oscar as I felt it was inferior to the Book of Life, HtTyD2 and Boxtrolls as it was quite paint by the numbers and "safe".
The Kingsman 7/10
Over the top and totally enjoyable. A marriage of a Bond film with Kill Bill. Curious to see where Fox's sequel/franchise plans lay with this one. Some ROUGH special effects cost this one a half point from me.

I was shocked that Dragon 2 didn't make a bigger splash than it did - it was a great movie on par with the original.

She-Creature (2001) - 8/10 - Apparently back in the early 2000nds, Cinemax & HBO teamed up producing a series of movies paying homage to the sci-fi & horror films originally made by American International films in the late 50's/early 60's. I've seen the original She Creature (& reviewed it here) & looked forward to this new one which I'd found n the $5 bin at my grocery store.
This was very good and felt like a modern Hammer Studios film in terms of pacing & the slow rolling out of scares & monsters. Stan Winston created the sea creature in this flick & she's just fantastic. The film involves the transport of an imprisoned mermaid from Ireland to the States in the early 1900's. She ends up being a lot more than just a beautiful mermaid & has a plan of her own which leads to a great final 20 minutes. Great creature, beautiful lighting and Direction, solid cast you'll recognize most of. What a find! -
