Get a couple of syringes, put a small amount of Zap-A-Gap into the syringe and go down through the top of the costume. Pump out just enough glue through the needle, and hold the pieces together. Practice on some fabric and plastic to get the technique down clean. This worked for me on another piece of similar construction.

$150 huh. I'll have to take some things over there and try to trade.
Thanks for the advice but, I have no intention of leaving the spandex or cape on him. I don't really like how they look.
