As to whether they will be a hit, I am not sure. As of now, that Superman piece (at an ES of 350) is STILL not sold out (and this is after the introduction of Doomsday and heavy recent promotion of the line). Maybe once the Batman pieces are produced, we'll see if the line gains traction.
I hope they will be. I won't get the females but I'd love a Two-Face bust to go with Freeze and Bats. The more people that buy these first few the better my chances are.

Hmm... Could it be because the Supes bust was sold exclusively on TH's website? The exposure at SS would have helped, I think. I mean, SS is the biggest pop-culture stuff online platform in the world. The eyeballs could have better converted into sales.

Oh well, the intelligent business minds at work in TH must know better when they launched this 1/3 bust line. Your point about the Batman pieces makes sense. Getting a standalone Supes bust vs. now getting Doomsday and the rest at $300 a pop (on an average) would sound good to the collectors, I guess.

There's no way TH could have offered the bust at $300 if they sold through SS. SS gets a BIG chunk.

My other concern is will the prices stay this good? Or, will it be like other pieces they've done where they start reasonable and escalate quite quickly? Will the females be $500 by the time we actually get one?

How did I forget the cost of distribution. But "BIG chunk" sounds sad. I have zero knowledge on this, but couldn't they have gone with other online stores like BBTS, and maybe local online distributors in different countries? Would it be a big chunk with them too?

Great point. If the industry has taught us anything, I think it is very safe to assume the prices will NOT stay this good. That continues to be my biggest pet peeve with the discussions on this line which make it sounds like these busts will be in the $300-$400 range (depending on a small vs. large character size) for the next 5 years. My guess is that a $300 "smaller" piece will be $400 in a year or two and that the $400 "larger" piece will jump to $500 or more. And like you suggest, a great example of this trend is Tweeterhead themselves with their 2.0 1/6 line (I think Superman was around $300-$350 to start the line but by the time Green Lantern was shown, the price had gone up into the $525-$550 range). Note, I may be off slightly on these prices.

And to be clear, if prices go up, they go up (a company needs to do what it needs to do to make money on the piece). I just think you need to be clear on the message.

Bingo. And that will be the end of the line.

They said it?s because next year is her 85th anniversary, so they wanted to do her (almost) first appearance look in honor of that.

I mean, I love the 40s look as it’s my favorite (outside of BTAS). I’ve been spoiled by TH’s love for her vintage look.

Yep. It's happened with both the MOTU line and the 2.0 line.

MOTU started in the mid $400 range, and now we're up to the $700s.

2.0 started at $350.00 and ended up in the $500's. We'll see what this new Darkseid and Catwoman are priced at in 2025 when they go up.
