Make sure you buy a tri-pod & a remote cable. PM
P1X4R. He'll tell you where to get a remote cable for $4.95. :)

I don't think it is a secret but you can get a remote shutter release for about $4 or less on eBay. It is also a great place to buy filters too. They are way cheaper on eBay than local camera shops.

You can't focus on a particular spot and move the camera with a timer. :D

Really? If you just set the little red dot to focus on a particular area, I don't see the need in a remote. Especially if you are just taking photos of statues.

I use the remote constantly. I can't imagine the time wasted using the timer! WOW! A remote costs $4.95. It's the greatest investment ever! :)
