I have been sort of follwoing the threads about some of the recently released and upcoming statues and was interested in seeing what people had.

I haven't bought a SF product since the first wave of the Resaurus figures, had no interest in getting anything, then I remember seeing Ryu, it was cool, but always had it on my want list, but then Vega came out and I have been hooked on this line since. I even get the DS line. Jerry is just killing these and I hope many more come out, and once all the main characters come out we get some revisits so we have different poses of the same characters. I know about 5-6 at least I would buy another version of.

I don't think it would be too wise to pass up a chance at making more money off the main characters like Ryu, Ken Guile, Bison, Chun Li or any females (because sex sells)

The winged women are Morrigan Reg and Ex from Darkstalkers, also by Jerry Macaluso. They are just as phenomenal as the SF PFs.

I reckon it's more of a Capcom display than just SF. :)

I've been lucky enough to pick them all up. The first one I got was Shin Akuma. I was waitlisted because I'd never heard of them when they first came out. SS got a return because the box had a hole in it and I jumped on it when they sent me an email offering it to me. The statue itself is perfect; no paint rubs.

I only recently was able to get a perfect regular Akuma at a decent price ($700 BIN with a 10% Microsoft cashback).

All the rest I got when they first came out. The exclusives from SS and the regulars from various online retailers.

I would be happy to have a different Vega (and he is my favorite) I would also like multiples of Guile (since the new one coming out isn't 100% to my liking) I am still getting Ryu and probably will another, if it is done well enough.

The only one I would want made again because it is too high is Akuma, and I know I won't pay that much for a character I hardly know or care about.

Sure this is a small line with many characters, but there are plenty of fans out there that will buy multiples of character, just got to go to all the Marvel characters as examples. Averone has a massive IM collection (also as an example), there are multiples of these and people will still buy them, because after 5 years in this line there will be wanting more different poses of characters, I don't see why that is so hard to understand. :radior:

I can understand Z or Dahlsim or Balrog not getting multiples, but Ken, Ryu, Guile, Bison, Chun Li, Blanka these are main characters that can be made over and over.

Big +1 on this. Sucks if you are late into the game, but thats the hobby. Doubling up is a horribly bad idea for the collectors.

I came to this party late and it sucks. :bawling: But it's totally OK because I know eventually I'll be able to get the pieces I am missing. It's kind of exciting having my own personal grails out there. And anticipating the feeling I'll get when I finally get them.

I started this line with Cammy, So I missed 3 fighters. Right now my grails are, (In order of most wanted):

That is a good example, people demand more, because there is SO MUCH MORE they can do with it. Is it really limited to Ryu pulling tight his (don't know what it is called) bandanna?

Bowen has been around for MANY years, is Jerry going to give up the line after doing the majority of characters? Because how popular will this line be after 15-20+ characters and he is starting to go through the third/fourth tier characters. I think the line will start dropping in es# and people will lose interest. Now refreshing the line with some new posed MAIN characters isn't a dumb thing to do, everyone seems so against it now, because the line is still pretty new, and think these are THE definitive character statues. What if Jerry loses the line (God forbid) and someone else starts making better pieces (again I am not bashing Jerry, Bowen was the main place to get Marvel statues than SS came along and blew them out of the water. I am just saying it could happen).

And it isn't far off to what SS does either. Doom will now be getting a new version of him , Hulk will be getting a new version, Spidey has a comiquette coming. I am sure we will see multiples of other characters down the road as well, like Cap, wolverine (2 different ones already).

I'm as big of a Street Fighter fan as anyone on this thread but I really don't think Street Fighter has a big enough fan base to warrant constant re-releases of the same characters. It took awhile for Ryu to sell out and most of the newer PFs like Morrigan, Cammy are still available. To me, just about the right amount was made. This line is not like Star Wars where the Boba Fett PF regular and exclusive has a limited run of 4000!

Something tells me Jerry has given this particular piece quite a bit of thought.

No doubt he's put some thought into it, I'm just letting my imagination run away with me. :o

Jerry always thinks of his fans. That's what's so great about him besides being a great sculptor.

This is one of the big factors that got me into collecting this line. Jerry constantly communicating with us, the more limited nature of this line, plus the hand-signed coa's that come with each piece make this feel like a very personal line.

To me all these factors cause this line to stand out in my mind.

Just a Thought! 1/3 scale Diorama of Ryu in white Gi and Ken in red Gi with both fireball, while one is suspended in mid air... No one has even attempted this scale.. Maybe this could be a first.. if not 1/4 scale will also do...Dont for get both fireball lights up!

You know Averone, Mecha Zangief is unique in that he can actually be displayed with your Marvel collection as well and fit right in since this version of the character stems from the Marvel vs games and it's not unusual to see say Captain America and Mecha Zangief sqauring off. I have Morrigan and Mecha Zangief together with Thanos and other characters from Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Regular Zangief is with his fellow original world warriors. Just something to think about if you want to spice things up.

please dont make a 1/3 scale anything street fighter. its too big for a room or case. too big to ship. wont fit the current collection. people will want more of the same scale and there are way too many characters to do of the 1/4 scale. Plus people that missed out on ryu can get one to fit the current collection. it will also lessen the epicness of the current 1/4 scale of the grail of grails akuma. so please no 1/3rd ever. no one will be disappointed. plus it will cost you more to make. that one was just to convince the maker. lol.

as for lighting, you should use LED lights...don't use halogen as it emits too much heat. those halogen lights are not good for your statue.

I ordered and just received my first PCS statue this month: Cammy (Delta Red). I was amazed at how big the box was.

Concerning the Resaurus figs, i'm missing Chun-Li, Sagat and Akuma. (and most of the exclusives). Too bad they are rare and quite expensive. (Especially when you take the additional international shipping in account)

Anyway still a lot of stuff to collect, but right now, The Gief PF is my main concern!

I have the Ibuki. They are not rare in my opinion. I see them all the time individually on eBay for alot less than that auction. I don't think they are done too well either, easy pass for me.

Ok here is the paint issue I was talking about. This is the first piece I ever owned so I don't know what is supposed to be normal and what isn't (not sure how this can be classified as normal but, moving right along).

I'm not sure SS has any more body replacements. My first Mecha came with a chipped portrait and a small hole in the shorts. The base was perfect.

Unfortunately, the replacement (a lower number) was perfect except for the base. It looked like someone spattered gloss black or gloss clear coat all over the base. SS had no more replacements so I contacted Jerry. He indicated a lot of them were showing this defect (including all of his) and he thought they had been put into the tissue paper when not totally dry (There was black paint on the tissue paper). Jerry's suggestion was "If you use super fine 320/600 wet sandpaper you should be able to buff those specks out." but I'm too afraid I'll eff it up more, so I'm going to live with it as is. If anybody has this same problem and is brave enough to attempt to buff the spots out, please let us know how it goes.

I would not try to sandpaper the glossy part out if I were you as it might take off paint and create uneven surfaces. I would spray the entire base with Testor's Dullcoat and it should remove the glossy appearance of the splatter.

i really like how its not going to take me well over a year to catch up like it did with maervel or star wars.

i just need to find ryu and akuma now. i think i like the egular akuma better than shin and im postive i want the reg ryu. i havent made up my mind on wether or not im going to get a eveil ryu one day. i think im going to stick with 1 statue for each character, except mecha zangief which i can display with a hulk statue or some other marvel character

this is a really nice statue line and i look fowad to some of my favorite characters like blanka, e honda, dhalsim, sgat and guilie

I thought you had to start from an even glossy/matte surface or spraying a dull coat would still look uneven. The Testor's Dullcoat should make the whole base look uniform?

The original conern was that the splatter has a glossy look to it and makes the splatter very noticeable. Testor's Dullcoat would only take out most of the glossy appearance of the glossy splatter and make everything looks matte. If the splatter is so thick that you can see the uneveness of surface, then the only way to take out the uneveness is to sand and repaint. For a simple black color base like this, it's a very simple and quick process than most people think. Just remember when you sand, you have to use circular motions.
