Check out this Death Star II (http://shop.lego.com/product.asp?p=10143&CMP=EMC-S0B014440384&HQS=html_Deathstar1) from LEGO. Pretty cool and close to 3500 pieces in all. I had one of their massive Imperial Star Destroyers but wound up selling it when I realized that it would most likely never get built.
Now I'm a low-to-middling Star Wars fan. I see all the films at the cinema, but don't rush. I have all six soundtracks, but no merchandise. But I love looking at the Star Wars Lego, and that Death Star is incredible. If only there were enough time and money in the world, or at least my tiny part of it...

My son has the collectible Tie Fighter and X-Wing fighter Lego kits and they are absolutely awesome. Very detailed.

Those are cool but will be dwarfed by the Death Star and Imperial Star Destroyer. The Star Destroyer is massive and when built well over 2 feet long. I had one and the box was huge. Close to 4000 pieces. I would have liked to have built it sometime but then what would I do with it? Take it back apart? I wound up selling it. I had one of their Collector Society (I think that's what they called it) X-Wings. It was going for some major bucks on eBay so I sold that one as well. They are definitely awesome. LEGO's have come a long way since they were first introduced.

Oh yeah, but they have to be dwarfed to keep in scale with everything! Those are sweet ones. I never got into them cause I knew I'd never have the space to keep them in, and likewise I didn't want to take them apart. The 360 degree view is pretty sweet.

Man now i want them...
Building legos is so much fun...
It kinda takes you out of your head for a little while...
Unless you are trying to build that terrible C3 Batcave...
Then you want to kill and destroy everything in your site...

You know, I really like legos as a kid. Now I'm 22 and I still want to build stuff with legos. Is that wrong? Should I let go of the inner child, or should I go to my local Wal-Mart and see what they have?

I saw this the other day when Lego e-mail me for with an advance solicitaion for the Death Star II set.
I am kind of hesitant to order it due to my experience with the Imperial Star Destroyer. The Star Destroyer was huge and had great detail. The only problem with it and it was a major problem is that the 4 main panels of the Star Destroyer were held together 3 places and 3 magnets per panel. This was OK for the 2 panels that made up the top of the Star Destroyer, but the 2 panels that made up the bottom of the Star Destroyer kept falling off from their magnets and connection points. This has been the only Lego set I have been disappointed with and because of this issue it it back in its box in the garage. I am hoping to figure out a way to make a better connection system but haven't found the time.
The other sets from Legos Collector's series have been amazing. I have the X-Wing and Tie Fighter on my desk in my office and have the Rebel Blockade Runner, Y-Wing, and Snow Speeder in my son's room.
Currently my son and I are building the Millenium Falcon set.
Daywalker -- jeez you are only 24....I am 33. At least I can have my little boy tag along so they think I am buying the set for him :p
