Hy everyone.

Can some help me with a couple of questions please.

Well, i was just wondering wich techinique is better,
combine SUPER SCULPEY with FIMO, or combine SUPER SCULPEY
with SCULPEY III.

-I read somewhere that the combination of SUPER SCULPEY
with SCULPEY III, make the clay more soft, is it not
to soft to work?

-I also read that the combination of SUPER SCULPEY
with FIMO make a harder clay, but some say that is
a little bit difficul to make the surface smooth,
what do you think?

-And finally, can you tell me please, the amounts that
i have to use to make this combinations?...how much
of SS and how much of FIMO and how mush of SS and S III?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Both ways are fine, and you already answered yourself !!!! with Fimo you get a harder clay and with sculpey III you got a soft clay !!!

smoothing the clay's surface has nothing to do with the hardness of the clay, but rather your techniques and the way you use the tools and materials !!!! Use one "lb" of super sculpey for two fimos or sculpey III

My best advice is try everything man, only trying you will learn for good !!!!

Sculpey III is too soft and for some reason, seems to break apart and crumble on me. 'Course I could have bought a bad batch of it! :banghead:

No, I think it crumbles when they add the coloring. Mostly, I've had problems with the black and silver. The other colors seem ok, FWIW.

thank you both for the answers.

cblakey1, you say that you prefer to use SS with FIMO, right?
2/3 with 1/3, could that be one pound of super sculpey with 2
blocks of FIMO?....

Kdawg59, yes i heard that some artist use SS with PREMO, it
will make it harder, right?...more harder than SS with FIMO?,
or the same?,...wich are the amounts to make this mix?

I have a pasta machine, how can i mix this two clays
with that?...is some special way, or i just put the clays
there and roll it?

I just recieve a package that i order over the internet, with
Super Sculpey, Fimo, and Scukpey III, and i goin to try all
the ways, i also have a couple of blocks of premo, and
i goin to try that too!!..

THANKS GUYS.

I guess you could do it that way. Though the pound to 2 squares would
probably be more like 3/4 to 1/4. I usually just mix it as I need it or
in little batches. That would make it approx. one "strip" of S.S. to
one square of Fimo.

I agree with KDawg about the Premo also. Premo and Fimo are practically
the same, but Premo is a little firmer.

As for the Sculpey III, you can mix that in the S.S. too!

Try 'em all and see what works best for you. Even unmixed they work
pretty well.

There is a company called Midwest Clay that has Super Sculpey already mixed into gray blocks and it rules.
