I decided to start a new thread as my old one is all messed up from me moving 3 times since i started it and my collection pics being all over the place.

Heres my new and what will be the final home for my collection for a long time, the cabinet took me (with help of a friend) 4 days to build and then another day to paint (it still needs another coat of brown). When i started the project I thought it would only take 2 days max including painting.

I don't expect to be adding much more to my collection, I may squeeze another comiquette on the Wolverine, spidey, ghost rider shelf and will replace some the none SSC stuff eventually but thats all.

The shelves can take some serious weight I was able to sit on the shelves and they didn't even budge there is 3 pieces of 2"x2" wood inside each shelf. If anything looks bowed in the pics its caused by the wide angle lense on my camera.

It's so nice and airy. Tons of room to cram in the future, unless of course you really are done. Congrats!

Beautiful custom cabinet display you have there K D. I like how you have your pieces set up with plenty of room to add more, kudos. Now all you need to do is add some overhead lightings from IKEA similar to the ones used in the detlof cases and you'll have the ultimate set up perfectly illuminating your centerpieces in the display case. :thumbs2:

The original plan was to have built in lighting but I simply didn't have enough time, we were sceduled to move in to the house on a Tuesday and I had to delay to Thursday to get the cabinet built and then painted it once we'd moved. I do plan on getting some type of lighting for it but not sure what yet. I may just buy some spot lights for the ceiling and aim those at the shelves.
I may squeeze a few more pieces onto the shelves but I don't want them to be to cramped and trying to keep the pieces well spaced.

I love a tidy collection with lots of airspace for each item.
