I ordered an Ex... Still not sure whether I'll cancel or not...

I'm thinking it might look cool displayed with the upcoming SS Conan piece, or my Dinosauria dio.

I'm just not 100% sold...

The eyes look kinda lame
Size vs. price? (body is only 10" tall)
Made of Resin?
I think the paint needs a little more weathering (should be darker with more shadowing)

Yeah, the paint apps look a little tame and could use a little more "kick ass" battle look. I think he will display well with my Bowen Death Dealer and CS Moore Barbarian AP. I think the size will be about right.

I love the Death Dealer character and I'm a big fan of Frank Frazetta's work but to me this statue is a little too Plain Jane for me. When I see the Death Dealer drawings I think of something that is more dark, sinister and mysterious then a regular human. Something that is other worldly like a Nazgul type of being. But to me this statue doesn't portray that and looks more like a regular buff warrior with a cool helmet and armor.

Yeah that kind of bugged me a little as well. As it stands it's not so much a traditional sideshow exclusive (where you get something extra by ordering direct), as it is just a variant of the regular release version. And I don't see any real reason why they couldn't have made the shield/decapitated head arm a switch out piece for the ex version.

Oh well, it is what it is I guess. :)

I agree with Warhead. This is a great sculpt of the character. Frazetta has several paintings of the death dealer and it is true that on the original he is on a horse and in at least one other painting, but often is not (at least in the Frazetta paintings.

Yes! I got my letter today stating the change-o-hand for the EX. It does make the most sense for the statue to be that way. I wonder if it was always meant to be that way and there was just a mistake on their info page where they didn't explain it, or they're actually changing the arm portion of the sculpt to accept the change-o-hand to make us fans happy?

Kudos to SS if they are actually changing part of the sculpt for us.:thumbs2:

It should have not been a problem, I actually have the one on my kit just pinned in so it can come on and off, I also had the idea to add the shield a couple years back and tried with apoxie sculpt with dire results, I than tried to get a sculpter to sculpt me one, but it would have been just as much as what the kit cost me, so I scrapped it.

Marcus Nispel who is Doing Conan now would be an excellent choice, the pathfinder he did was visually very Frazetta like.

Congrats on the Deathdealer Cimmerian and Magic, great score for Death fans, as you know I already have and painted up the kit version of this statue... I ordered and really wanted the sideshow version also because of the Exclusive Shield, in the end I cancelled because it just wasn't practical for me to pay for another Deathdealer/Decimator statue with shipping to Hawaii just for the exclusive shield.

I already had another DD shield made for me for another project, I am just hoping that it fits with my Deathdealer/Decimator also.

If Interested send me a PM.....Asking $290

PLEASE NOTE-----> This Statue and the Box is Numbered #102/600..... I have called Sideshow on this issue ( Mike Tolintino ) " Issue #1 Being there's Only 250 Exc. and #2 Issue The Edition Size is Total of 675 Not 600 Pcs., and Since there not the Manufactures of this Death Dealer Statue, theres Not alot they can do, atleast right now...Sorry the Pic on the display isnt The best, but atleast you can see....If your a True collector, this Might be an Issue, If you collect For the Love of the Piece, this is an Awesome one....

--------> Update 8/20.....Sideshow's Mike Tolintino called me today and Had said that Quarantine Studio's hasnt Answered his question Pertaining to the Numbering Issue...Also, Didnt Answer what the Edition Size is...Interesting, how could they Not Answer ???? None the Less, He assured me that Sideshow's Exclusive Editon size is 250 Pcs. Just Keeping you updated on My conversations With Sideshow, I dont want you to Encounter any Surprises, so whether you buy My Exclusive or Anothers, this is a real Possibility, that it will have a Numbering Issue with it

This is definately at the top of the list for best DD sculpts, this is based on the Deathdealer from Verotiks comic label, which was drawn by Liam Sharp, I have this as a kit just never got around to it, this should be in same scale as this Deathdealer by William Paquet.

This is a fabulous rendition of the Death dealer, it was actually a kit for a couple of years, it was called The Decimator and Williams take absolutely rocks.

I am still getting the battle version because I like the shield, below is a pic and a link to my paintup of this kickass sculpt.

that is an excellent paint job. It brings so much more life into the statue than the production paint job.
