View Full Version : Who's ur favorite 5 Super Heroes........
hulknthor
05-25-2005, 02:51 PM
Not based on statue or bust but rather the hero himself (based on powers, look, personality, etc...)
My team would be
Batman---got the personality, the cape, the mask
Hulk--the mean green machine, muscles, a brute
Thor--the best looking superhero, great colors, the hammer, the cape
Iron Man--loved the cartoon, his overall look, he's rich like bruce wayne,
Sub Mariner-close call to aquaman, but meaner
You can only pick 5. Five only. Poll somebody.

Thor -- God of Thunder, nuff said!
Hawkeye -- Average Joe personality and always has an arrow for every occasion
Nightwing -- Great character and story behind what drives him!
Beast -- Again, great character back in the day. Always fun!
Savage Dragon -- This guy Rocks! Great attitude, Great outlook, Great fun!
If we were picking a team, I would have to rethink to add another flyer, and some cheesecake! But these are my top fav.'s!
(I dont hink this thread will last too long in the Bowen Section!)

My team would be (in no particular order):
Wonder Woman
Tigra
Black Cat
Nocturne
Blink
Forget savin' the world. My team would just hang out at the beach, have slumber parties and engage in various wrestling activities involving foodstuffs such as jello, pudding, and whipped cream. :eplus2:
mine would be
captain america
silver surfer
iron man
thor
black panther
I'm with you on two of them;
Batman
Hulk
Superman
Wolverine
Spider-man
Batman because he's got no super powers and I like his Dark side, Hulk is great because he's not allways a hero and everybody tends to Hulk out one time or another.
Superman is like the first Superhero I can imagine ,Wolverine's real life attitude and spider-man is just one cool dude.

Nightwing
Nightcrawler
Daredevil
Juggernaut
Green Lantern (Kyle)
Now there is an interesting Team to do a monthly book around...

Daredevil -- Great character depth and costume. I even loved the armored version Scott McDaniel introduced. I didn't like the idea of it, but his art really sold me on it.
Flash -- Love his powers - super speed, vibrate through wall time travel, etc..
Spider-Man -- The most human super hero out there. Easy to relate to since he struggles with every day life situation like real people. Never give up attitude.
Batman -- Ordinary man doing extraoridnary things. His mind is his greatest weapon.
Green Lantern -- Weilds the most powerful weapon in the universe. The only limit to his power is his will and the limits of his imagination. As a kid this was the super hero I wanted to be when I grew up :)

Captain America - Icon
Daredevil - Red, Yellow or armorded version still a outstanding character
Batman - I agree with what everyone has written so far
Wolverine - Nuff Said
Thor - to be a God is all that needs to be said
If I had to limit it to 5:
Thor
Captain America
Superman
Batman
Daredevil
Does this belong in the Bowen section, though?

Superman - leaving him off is like leaving the Beatles off of a music poll
Batman - A character who actually isn't 'super', but has to be here
Thor - Kirby, nuff said
Black Bolt - my sentimental favorite from childhood.
Supergirl - ya gotta make room for a chick on here, and she's just HOT in any costume.
Though this poll has nothing to do with him, I haven't given a shout out to PASTE POT PETE in a couple of days, so there it is.

Favorite 5? That is kind of tough. I gave this some thought and here are mine:
Batman - one of the few true archetypes in the genre
Spider-man - just a normal guy that can scale walls
Doctor Strange - there is a whole other world out there
Nexus - Gets power and just has to execute mass-murderers? Where do I sign up?
Ant-Man - powers like this bring Peeping Tom to a whole new level! :D
The 5th slot was a hard one to fill, but I think I chose wisely. Other candidates for slot 5 were Mystique, Mantra, Iceman, and Thing.

My team would be:
Batman because he is tough and intelligent while also being a bit of a psycho.
Nightwing because he is second only to Bats.
Green Lantern because he has that ring, is green and doesn't put up with crap from Batman.
Daredevil because he would also not put up with crap from Batman.
Hulk because he is also green and puts up with no crap from anyone especially Batman.
Also if I could add a sixth player in the mix I would include Optimus Prime because they would need a leader who has a level head.
This team would have problems. Maybe I do for putting such an unlikely team together.

Darkclaw--The best of both worlds. Batman/Wolverine. Plus I'm then aloud to pick 4 more. But seriously. Totally cool character. If only ONE day "they" could somehow agree for someone to make it a monthly book.....
Cloak & Dagger---There a team so that counts as one. GREAT characters if
handled right.

My all time favourite 5, right? I hesitate to call them a team--it wouldn't work. But here's my Favourite 5:
1. Daredevil --the most interesting character ever written--he's been kicked around and he still gets up!
2. Batman --dark icon with a rich history. Plus chicks dig the car.
3. Captain America --easily the most principled superhero ever. And the ultimate leader.
4. Cyclops --he's "Mr X-Men" to me.
5. Iron Fist --best martial artist in my book!
Notable mentions: Hawkeye, Moon Knight, Captain Mar-Vell (1970s), Wolverine but only from the Claremont/Byrne years, Hal Jordan GL.

Shazam/Captain Marvel = A kid at heart with the power to spank Superman
Batman = Dark, vengeful, and human with strict discipline and sharp mind plus the greatest rogues gallery in comics
Spiderman = Second best rogues gallery makes for great adventures
Wolverine = Cool healing factor, unbreakable bones and a temper too
Captain America = A favorite of my dad during WWll and mine since 9-11

Jean Grey just love the character, her sensitivity and altruism.
The Flash (Barry Allen) the superhero who got me into comics
Cyclops the other half of Jean and followed there bitter sweet love affair from the beginning, and as mentioned above Mr X-Man.
My next favourite character would have been Gwen Stay but as its hero’s.
Spider-Man like The Flash he introduced me to Marvel comics and personal plotlines, rather than hero vs villain.
Ralph Hinkley aka The Greatest American Hero (well you did not say confined to comics). I think this guy out does Peter Parker for being what most of us would be like at the super hero game.

I almost went with my Top 5 Marvel.....and Top Five DC......but I figured that would be cheating! Soooooooo.......!
1) SCARLET WITCH - Have always loved her look, her attitude, her personality...basically, everything! The fact that very people have known how to write her properly hasn't even ever really bothered me! I sure hope she doesn't get the axe once and for all after House of M!
2) QUICKSILVER - Loved his quirky relationship with Wanda and downright arrogance, but I've also felt a lot of writers wrote him VERY one note. Until Peter David, that is! He showed so many different sides to Pietro!
3) GREEN ARROW - Just something about the guy.......!
4) DREAM GIRL - After Paul Levitz took over, that is! He took a character who appeared MAYBE once a year and turned her into one of the most interesting, well-rounded (not to mention best looking!) heroes of the last 40 years.....too bad that all changed from the "Five years later" and on!
Number Five was tough, but I'd have to go with:
5) POLARIS - Love the character, love the look - current costume not withstanding! - love everything! Like pretty much on this list, though, very few writers have known what to do with the character, especially right now!
I would LOVE to see busts of the last three from Randy!

1. Batman--always has been always will be my favorite
2. Superman--The father of all superheroes. Who wouldn't want his powers
3. Green Lantern--Hal Jordan, I am so happy he is back.
4. Flash--The powers are just soooooo cool, I would kill to get my work done in nano seconds
5. Spiderman/Wolverine--Sorry its a tie for me. Love the characters and love the powers of each.

Mine would be my 5 favorites
Spider-Woman This isn't even a favorite character at this point, she is a passion of mine.
She-Hulk was my favorite character and comic book during my teenage years. I think the Sensational comic came out when I was 11. She remained my favorite all through high school.
Batgirl Barbara Gordon I have always liked her alot and she was my 2nd favorite DC when I was a kid, but she has grown to be my favorite.
Wonder Woman After Spider-Woman died when I was a kid Wonder Woman quickly went from #2 to #1 and she even had her own Toy and she was in all those cartoons.
Storm is my favorite X-Men and 5th favorite comic hero. She has a great will, great costume, and is one of the most powerful character out there.

Hmm... some interesting takes on what a "hero" is.
My 5 would be:
Juggernaut - To me, the most poorly utilized and misunderstood character in the MU.
Magneto - Awesome power and passion.
Random - A shapeshifter that isn't a simpering fool!
Blink - Loved this character from day 1
Archangel (Metal Wings) - Awesome to look at
