Bowen Designs Thor museum pose statue review (http://www.whatsyourobsession.com/bowen-designs-thor-museum-pose-statue-review/)

This week, I’m reviewing one of the statues that made me want to get into collecting these overly expensive things, the Bowen Designs Thor musem pose statue.

The great thing about this statue is it’s one of the most classy of all Bowen statues. Thor stands on top of a wonderfully made base, in a very powerful pose. He’s truly the Asgardian God of Thunder here. The cape and hair flows wonderfully, the muscles are well sculpted, and the face is spot on with my favourite comic illustrations of him. Great job on his hammer as well.

The paint on my particular one was up there with the great Bowen paintjobs. Good attention to detail, no paint drips or chips, no real problems. There are a few areas around the armbands and belts where the paint isn't perfect, but that's pretty nitpicky. I never noticed it prior to the review.

I've gotta say, I'm a big fan of the slight bit of mixed media going on with the hammer strap. Nice touch.

One thing to consider is that there’s going to be a huge amount of competition for the best Thor statue soon. With the upcoming Bowen busts, the recent Kotobukiya statue, and no doubt the multiple statues coming from the movie, you might get lucky and this might go down in value.

5/5. This is still my favourite Thor statue from any company. I unfortunately don’t own mine anymore, but you can be sure I’ll be picking this one up again.

If you've read this far, you're probably thinking, where's my damn bonus?!

I had the luck to get myself the faux bronze version of this statue shortly after I had to part with my colour version.

You can either read my review with pics here :

Of course, since it was my first time on camera in like a year and a half, I'm stiff as all hell and technical problems abound. Kind of a lame bonus. :tounge:

But on the plus side, it was good practice. The next review I'll be posting (the Rockin' Jellybean Invisible Woman) has a much better performance from me and the technical issues are (for the most part) fixed. So you know, you can actually hear the review.

I agree, this is the best Thor statue.

Ditto, and the Beta Ray Bill looks to be a good matching companion piece.
