Okay, I LOVE Electric Tiki's stuff. My studio looks like their warehouse with all the maquettes I've been buying.

Today I got my "Kelly Bundy" maquette and it is sweeeeet!

Only problem is it's the BLUE dress and I don't mind the color blue BUT this color blue on the maquette is my least favorite hue of blue!

It reminds me of the blue color they used to print community service notices when I was a kid.

Sooooo I want to paint it another color for my OWN. What paints to use? Non-toxic that is.

Muggs- Recommend you use Liquitex or Golden acrylic paints. There are other acrylic paints that will work (Ceramcoat, Apple Barrel etc.)

Good luck!

Hey Rick! Gad, it goes back a lonnnnng time seeing your work again!

I'll be highlighting your website on my site with my new section devoted to models and statues.

Your work is spectacular to say the least!

As for painting my maquette, do I need to strip the old paint off first? prime it and then repaint or can I just put on an undercoat and then paint over that? It's been a while since I've done model painting and know the technologies have changed. Just want to make sure I'm doing it right.

I'm going to repaint with a 'white lace' look with a tease of see-thru which I'll use an air brush for.

Thanx Mugs! As for your maquette, you can just give it a shot of Testor's Dull Coat as your primer and just paint right over the top. You can strip the paint off, but if the dress is the only thing you don't like, mask off the flesh and other areas and paint away. :D
