We had two paint masters done and it is possible that the final piece will have elements from both. Jim Rowell was the painter on this one.

Yep, it'll be in my collection. Right along with Witchblade, Vampirella, Grace (Soulfire), and Spellforce.

Just looked at this one again. The sculpt is fantastic. The back muscles are so pronounced and the neck looks so real. The rest if unbelievable. Couldn't recommend which painter to use as they both look so beautiful. It'll definitely be one to have even if I don't collect the book or know anything about it.

Do you know if this might be on display in San Diego?

I just registered to say WOW...this statue is so amazing and sexy!

It sounds like I'm not the only one who hasn't read any of Kabuki. I am familiar with Moore's collectibles though, and I have been considering buying one of the Kabuki busts for some time. I think this just about seals the deal.

While I would be more than satisfied with either paint job, I personally prefer Moore's one. It looks like Rowell put outlines around the red regions of the costume. Moore's statue does not appear to have these outlines, and I like its look better. The front of the gloves of Moore's statue also seems to be a more vibrant green, which I prefer. Finally, I like the paint around the eyes of Moore's statue a tad better as well.

Definately having this. She'll look AMAZING with the Kabuki busts I have surrounding the base. I've never read the entire Kabuki series, but I'm more into it for the design and gorgeous sculpts that go alongside it.

Definiately having one, whatever paint job is used.

Absolutely gorgeous, as are both paintings, can't wait to put it besides the "older" one I already have!

I hope she'e a as big as the previous Kabuki statue. I'd love to display them side-by-side. I like Paul's face painting better.

I think she'll be bigger (taller) than the other Kabuki statue. It's hard to tell from the photos, but I can't help but feel that she's going to be as tall (base and statue) as Bowen's Black Widow. Possibly a bit shorter.

I hope she's a bit bigger. I think the previous Kabuki statue was a little on the small side.

That is one beautiful statue, it gives his Aphrodite IX a run for her money. I'll be getting one as soon as they are available. I wonder if it is going to be the same size as his 'Black Cat' which he did recently?

Wife's gonna give me the "I can't believe you're buying that for him!" speech. He and ?I'll have to hide it behind some of the others. That's what we did with swimsuit Fathom. :}

I believe it is 1/6 scale ( about 11 inches tall without the base )

This is correct.

To answer the other questions, it will be a pre-paint. I don't know of any plans to make a kit of her at this time.

I would also assume it will be at San Diego if Moore or Mack are attending. I haven't heard either way, but I would guess there is a real good chance.

Unbelieveable. Simply amazing. Beautiful piece. If it's released I'll be picking this one up. If it's a kit then probably not.

Greetings all!
I just discovered this thread, today. The photo of the KABUKI face is my "first draft". The Final Version is shown here...
http://www.modelpainter.com/images/600_Kabuki_Face_1.jpg

And there's not a close picture of the tatoo on here back, so here's one...
http://www.modelpainter.com/images/600_Kabuki_Dragon.jpg

(Funny, Paul's Kabuki is shown on my base, as is the one shown at http://csmoorestudio.com/kabuki.htm.)

You will find no better sculptor when it comes to human anatomy than Clay Moore. You should look at the Spider-Man Statues (http://www.modelpainter.com/images/600_Spider-Man_-_Black_CU_5.jpg http://www.modelpainter.com/pages/930346/index.htm) he did for Diamond Select. I know the pictures don't do it justice, but you should find one and look at the detail in the musculature. It's just amazing (no Spider-Man pun intended)!
Well, anyway, I hope you all enjoy KABUKI and all of Clay's other work in you collections as much as I've enjoyed painting it.

Thanks,

Jim Rowell

Received some info from CS Moore Studios concerning the Kabuki Statue:

- MSRP will be $159
- Available in the Aug 2005 Previews
- CS Moore Co. is working to add on-line ordering to their site.

Apparently (if I read my e-mail right), the Kabuki Statues ordered through csmoorestudio.com will be signed my Mr. Moore (no extra cost).

Info on Magdalena and Aprodite IX APs will be released in a few weeks.

No plans for a CS Moore Collector's Club at this time.
