I saw on another thread an articulated Spiderman that was being asked about to be used as a more articulated manikinĀ®.
Well, I thought you might find this helpful...these are very articulated dolls some very pricey, but the 27 cm ones seem to be the best value at around $20. They can stand on their own (If you get the ones with magnets in the feet.) and there are additional hands etc. that you can pop in and out.

...For appreciating the post.

Some other considerations for articulated artist models are Barbie Glamour doll...they aren't AS articulated as the Obitsu but they are $1.99 at TRU. Also the Ultimate Soldier dolls are very articulated and have tons of cool outfits and accessories but they are like $30 and up...also the Obitsu are they only ones that stand by themselves which for me is a huge plus!

i collect many 1/6 articulated figures and these are better as sculpt references. most have 35 plus points of articulation and the sculpt is very good on many of the bodies. the best ones i've seen are the ones from triadtoys, but i think they have sold out:

most are under 30 and i have the omega and alpha bodies and they are very nice for posing. another good one is the hot toys body, but they are pretty pricey plus the sculpt isnt as detailed

The Triad stuff is nice but they aren't AS articulated as the Obitsu PLUS they start at twice the price. The Obitsu is also the only one that can stand on it's own (On a steel surface.) AND stand on one foot!

i'm not sure which obitsu body you're referring to, but those triad alpha bodies are really impressive. they also have the magnets and the swappable limbs. there's a nice youtube video of it where they demonstrate the articulation and the swappable parts and magnets

the headless obitsus are about 23-25 without a head the last time i checked and they are made of some soft vinyl on some parts. those triad alhpa bodies are the same price, but is in a more sturdy construction. just my two cents

The triad stuff looks cool but they aren't as flexible as the Obitsu though. The Obitsu can touch their own sholders etc. Some Obitsus do have soft vinyl parts but not all...you decide when ordering. True they don't come with heads...you buy them separate so you get just the head you want...I got my Obitsu for $19.99btw.
The image I included in a previous post shows their flexibility compared to other figures.

The Volks Dolfie is just as flexible but nowhere near as sturdy.
