This is Olevander's ... they let about 20 people into the shop at once, and one lucky kid is picked and gets a wand in the same way as Harry did in the first film. The little girl's name was Emma, she was SO cute.

Those are (from left to right) ... Harry's, Hermionie's, Ron's, Prof. Dumbledor's, and Voldemort's.

There are 4 more that I want to get ... but they were out of them ... they're a whole series, and there will more made later this year, including Luna's which I DESPERATELY want. :buttrock:

What was really awful was the heat ... it was unbearable, we kept going back to the hotel every 4 hours to cool off.

Thankfully when I take Rodder's and Steph later this year it will be much cooler.

It's actually much smaller than the pictures would lead you to believe. They really shot their wad on the "Forbidden Journey", "Flight of the Hypogrif" and "Dragon's Challenge" rides.

I really want to go, but I'm just not brave enough to go to an Orlando park during the summer. I always regret it when I do (I can be quite the whiner when I'm overheated). Those wands look great. I may have to pick up a couple when I finally go. Maybe after Christmas. :)

How was the main new ride?...Forbidden Journey right?

Universal has an iron clad contract with Marvel for the next 9 years, that was in place prior to the buy out, so for the foreseeable future, Marvel Island will be staying at UIOA.

I have heard from some friends of mine that work at Disney, that Disney is SUPPOSED to be breaking ground next year on an adventure thrill ride type park, and that Marvel will have a big hand in it.

If the rumors are true, that's about the amount of time that Disney would need to build their park.

So I would expect to see some major changes around 2020.

And they're going to continue to be crazy for at least a year or more, this is the only HP based attraction in the whole world. I personally heard at least 8 different languages being spoken while I was in the various lines.

Those are some great pics. My wife will absolutely geek out when we finally get a chance to get to the Harry Potter park. Do you mind if I ask you how much a wand costs?

Btw, sorry about the horrible weather conditions. We've had nothing but crazy heat and humidity. The rain only helps for so long, then the humidity gets cranked to max.

The wands were 30 each, not overly ridiculous because they're VERY high quality resin and very solid. Voldemort's actually feels like ivory to the touch.

We live in South Florida, so for the most part we're used to the heat, but this will be the last time we go to Orlando in the summer ... there's no point to going if you're not going to be able to enjoy yourself because of it.
