Not an earthquake friendly statue. Not sure why magnets weren’t used to keep the statue planted on the base.

I cannot for the life of me get the dogtag on. Since it has no clasp, not sure what I need to do to get it on without breaking the chain. Any suggestions?

Just tried it and it didn't work either.

Jetfuel, just checked into the large ring and it cannot be split opened. It looks like a completely closed ring.

Not sure. Most of my stuff are still boxed up. I guess since he has his arms and hands up, it added some height to him.

The most lacking part of it is the comb though. I can't tell of the teeth are painted in or sculpted in, but either way it doesn't look so hot.

Of course, the picture makes it look a lot bigger than it is.

Well maybe you shouldn't buy PFs. Because most of them don't have a nice finish under the fabric. Even the Hulk PF has 2 gaps on each leg with unfinished paint under his pants.
I don't care what the paint looks like under the fabric. Since I don't plan on displaying them naked.

I think it's sculpted in. I can see some faded paint in between the 2nd and 3rd "tooth" from the left.

Without the sculpted and painted shadowing to show wrinkling on the forehead and around his eyes and nose, the production Guile lacks the intensity of the prototype, like he's had too much Botox or a fresh facelift.

Hopefully this is just a result of the flash and camera angle (not dissing the photography at all, we all appreciate pictures).

I should have my regular and Ex on Monday if they charge my card and ship today so I'll see for myself then.

Could someone in the LA area swing by Jerry's house to wake him up soon so he can explain how to put the dog tags on? I do understand why they weren't shipped around his neck but hopefully we won't have to take the chain to a jeweler to have more links put in. ;)

You are right, I also loved the glossy lips on the prototype, nothing to see of glossy lips on the in hand pics. Also nothing glossy on the fingernails like on Akuma. Hope I don't find more things I don't like and I get blown away when I receive Guile myself :praying:

Nope, its the "Guile" dog tag. And the statue did not come with a chain on. Perhaps they were test fitting them at the factory in Jerry's pictures. I wish the Charlie tag was included.

It would be a very simple matter to cut that ring off the chain, buy a cheap chain w/a normal clasp and swap it out. But then, it would no longer be 'mint and original' :p

from production pics the pants can be opened around the waist. when you get him take off his pants (we know you want to :) ) and lower his pants (and anything else you want to do ;)). judging from these pics and if you liked the other sf so far, his will go with the rest of the sf and you will like guile too when you see him in person.

The statue looks really good. Tattoo looks incredible.

The most lacking part of it is the comb though. I can't tell of the teeth are painted in or sculpted in, but either way it doesn't look so hot.

Of course, the picture makes it look a lot bigger than it is.

the teeth of the comb is easy fix. just cut out the gaps between the teeth with a small dremel drill saw and repaint the silver comb. the close up pics has magnified things that you will not see in details when he is displayed.

hmmm, the skin color is to pale or monotonous, not enough different colors used imo, but I really hope it's the cam!!
Also the sculpt of his chest/ribs (next to the shirt) is not completed, in comparison to Ken for example there is not that much sculpt on Guile. But as I said, really hope it will look really great in person :praying:

The farthest I have gone is lifting of the tank top. Looks like the tank top can be taken off. Still have to figure out the buckle. I really doubt if the pants can come off completely with some cutting.

The dog tags came separate in a plastic bag. Like Turtle's, the chain was also a bit tight but i was able to wiggle it along the perimeter of his hair until i found a spot where it slipped on. When i first opened up Guile, it was a bit underwhelming because John really spoiled us with the massive Red Cyclone. Most of the previous PCS statues have focus, ready for action poses. But with the hair combing pose, Guile has this almost comical feel to it. I understand its his iconic winning pose in the games, but i kind of wish Jerry went with a more 'serious' pose. With that said, I still like this piece alot. He really started warming up to me when i had him standing side by side with his fellow World Warriors. Like Turtle mentioned, he's definitely not Earthquake safe. The bottom of his boots don't fit tightly into the base, so he wobbles slightly. It would've been nice if magnets were used. The paint job on his left eye is a bit messy. But all in all, John did a great job. Guile's guns really make this piece pop =)

I think if the paint ap had more shading and a little less pale looking it would have brought more definition and emotion to it. Still all in all I think John did a great job on the sculpt and congrats to Jerry on another stellar piece in his sought after SF line.

Sh!t. That missing eyebrow is starting to bug me. Damn Spazzy.

Sorry bud, It just looks a little frankenstein looking, I think i will add a very light but noticeable eyebrows, I think it will help round it out.

The dog tags came separate in a plastic bag. Like Turtle's, the chain was also a bit tight but i was able to wiggle it along the perimeter of his hair until i found a spot where it slipped on. When i first opened up Guile, it was a bit underwhelming because John really spoiled us with the massive Red Cyclone. Most of the previous PCS statues have focus, ready for action poses. But with the hair combing pose, Guile has this almost comical feel to it. I understand its his iconic winning pose in the games, but i kind of wish Jerry went with a more 'serious' pose. With that said, I still like this piece alot. He really started warming up to me when i had him standing side by side with his fellow World Warriors. Like Turtle mentioned, he's definitely not Earthquake safe. The bottom of his boots don't fit tightly into the base, so he wobbles slightly. It would've been nice if magnets were used. The paint job on his left eye is a bit messy. But all in all, John did a great job. Guile's guns really make this piece pop =)

I dont mind it being bigger, but when it's thicker then it ruinsthe scale. I love these statues to bits, but one thing I would have changed is the scale. Vega should have been taller, Zangief and maybe even Ken.

Ken is slightly crouched, while Guile is standing straight.

Ken is barefoot and Guile is wearing boots.

The bases are different thicknesses.

These account for some of the perceived difference in height.

They will slide down to the right height.

However Capcom didnt want him to have any eyebrows.

- Guile is a few inches taller than Ryu/Ken. He also has boots on and a high top hairstyle so he is going to look significantly taller. But in reality he is pretty close to accurate.

The base is a little taller than the other bases but thats just one of those factory things that costs too much to change once you see it.

- Dog tags are metal. Go ahead...try and bite them ;) Actually dont...I dont ned the lawsuit ;)

- I havent had any issues with guile falling off the base...and we even had a decent size earthquake here at one point. I think for him to fall you;d have to really give him a knock. I dont see it as an issue.

- The comb. Its the same comb from every single pic Ive ever shown. Its intentionally made to look a bit like a cartoonish comb.

Jerry i have no complaints Guile is perfect in every way, I love it! I cant tell you enough how AWESOME he looks with the chrome belt buckle. Its SIC!!!!
