I want him floating in mid-air like his other victory pose! The statue and base would have strong magnets and some sort of gyroscope and laser system to keep him centered. :drinking:

Really, I just hope he has a small footprint because I'm running out of space. There was a sketch posted on here where Dhalsim was stretched out with the limbs wrapped around himself. I wouldn't mind something similar to that if it isn't too crazy.

The floating pose is the one that i want. He's not actually doing anything but it's still interesting to look at. And for the ex they could change the colours or base so that it's the yoga teleport.

sorry min, even they won't have an affect on this statue. If Dhalsim is anything like that picture this one will be an easy pass for alot of folks that are not diehards or completest to the line.

I don't think the price will be too different than the other pieces. Though it may cost less material since Dhalsim is skinny it still takes a lot of work from the artists to make it. Plus I'm pretty sure because the figure is skinny there has to be measures made to make sure the legs are strong enough to balance it.

Hi Jerry... I imagine you are seeing this little thread yoga flaming its way back up the charts :) I know you are a busy man with the shipping of Scorpion etc but can you give us an idea on whether we will see another SF PF sneak in before Sagat and whether Dhalsim will be the man?

As we also know that Capcom do not like teaser photos until the piece is approved I suppose the important question is .... Have any other SF WW PF sculpts such as Dhalsim been approved by Capcom?

Well Jerry is partially to blame and there is no denying that. How? By taking on too much product at one time! Let me explain!

This is very analogous to video game playing. You buy one game, then another, then another, and buy the time you get to the first one, you kind of become undecided if you want to play that one or the 20 other games in your collection, and as a result, you wind up playing none of them, and they sit up untouched for the next 5 months collecting dust looking at you stupid like play me please!

Jerry has taken on all of these licenses (partially due to PCS fan wants), and in and of itself, that is not a bad thing! But when he starts dabbling in many different formats of a license, stretched out between several different licenses, then it becomes a problem to not just he and staff (stretching themselves thin) but also to the customer (indecisive decisions on what to buy due to cost and space limitations).

The saying "out of mind, out of sight" is the perfect quote for this and it is the truth! Jerry should have released or at least been on his 10th SF statue minimum. Chun-Li should have been out almost 2 years ago. Sagat should have come out late last year, and Dhalsim should just be coming out (by the time Chun-Li comes out this year). Part of great business is putting the product out for customers while it is in people's minds and while it is a hot topic. If you wait trying to decide when you want to bring him out, that is a disservice to the license, fans, and ultimately to the company itself.

I have never been a supporter of wait and see when I want to bring out something if it is already made, or could have already been made. This philosophy is one of the main issues PCS fans have (like with the Mortal Kombat line). There should be no reason why at least 3 MK statues should be ready to drop already (2 done and 1 on the way). But now the 1st statue is finally coming out after a year darn near.

Mortal Kombat is the hottest fighting property going now and should be taken advantage of while its most pressing on fans minds. The same should have been done for Dhalsim, Sagat, and the rest of the street fighting gang. Yes, you can't rush excellence, but thats not the point in this case.

Instead of doing busts, dios, and 1:4 PF statues for SF, just focus on 1:4 (the main bread and butter of PCS for this line). For MK, instead of trying to dabble in 1:1 props, and dios, and busts, and 1:4 scale statues, just focus on 1 or maybe 2 formats if it permits. Now there are less things taking away from the main format most people want and can afford! Lets take a close look at the licenses PCS has for a not huge company like SS....

1)SF (1:4 PF, Dioramas, 1:3 busts, 1:3 Ryu perhaps)
2)MK (1:4 PF, 1:1 bust, Dioramas, 1:1 Props)
3)Darkstalkers (1:4 PFs)
4)Thundercats (1:4 PFs)
5)Individual licenses (Darkchylde, Judge Dredd, Shi, etc.)

This is too much! Then what these other companies fail to consider is that the bulk of these customers buy other companies products too (Sideshow, Bowen, Koto, etc.). Sideshow by itself commands lots of money to many of us (Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc.).

There is too many product and too little money to go around. So in the end, people like myself and Jetfuel wind up having to cut off products we would love to get due to lack of product, in conjunction with other licenses from other companies coming, not to mention too little space and not enough money. Something has got to give!

SF was the first line from PCS so why not stick to the main baby. MK has the potential to be a solid performer as well as T Cats. I don't know what the status of Darkstalkers is, but that has been out of sight and out of mind for a long time for me now.

Stick to your big guns is what I say. Don't take on multiple formats with each license!

If Jerry you do tend to read this, look at what SS has done or is going to do. Looks like they are going to start trimming back some product. That 1/5 Marvel Comiquette stuff has got to go. Especially when it is same cost as 1/4 PF or 1/4 Comiquettes. Product has to be decreased to maintain demand and also better QC.

Im sure there is other situations and factors going on here, but there is no denying, people are frustrated or getting frustrated.

I dont want him to hurry and make all the characters and sacrifice quality! I just think its more efficient (if thats the word) if the amount of formats per each license is decreased. Too many formats and no focus.

Not slow!?! Its been a year and several months since Bison, if thats not slow I don't know what is. I agree with you about not producing to fast because some people do not have the money to keep up, but at least put two statues in your customer's hands a year. That is not too much to ask.

Chunli was the main reason why there has been so many delays. Mainly because of her costume. He said after her, the line will pick up steam. This wait has been dreadful. What jerry should have done was release another PF in between bison and chunners. I really do hope street fighter picks up steam. They are the only statues I collect and I really hate this wait...

one possible way to increase interest would be to throw in a Dhalsim or someone in there with a Zangief like edition size to create some buzz.
The biggest buzz kill is the ridiculous wait between characters. The worst possible news for me is knowing that the original 12 are now no longer going to be done back to back.

At the end of the day Jerry is in the business of making money so i understand he has to try different formats, licenses, etc. to see which one will generate revenue to make up for the ones that don't and still see a profit.

As a fan, SF 1/4 line is the most frustrating line to collect!

I couldnt agree more with what your sayin Jetfuel...even i have contemplated selling off my entire SF collection except maybe one piece due to the snooze-fest over at PCS for SF PF'S,i know some of my collector friends gave up after Guile and or Bison,Guile selling for $134 is just plain sad,and i am sorry to hear that...you can also tell how questionable things are when Jerry puts up his Guile or Bison AP's on the bay,and sometimes they sell for less than retail,which is a real eye opener...for the love of god make less edition sizes

No worries, Iceman. To be fair, I've had every opportunity to get Cammy; the first one I got came broken and it put me off getting another one for a long time. Typically, it's only now, when she rarely shows up on the Bay, that I've decided to hunt her down again and it looks like I'm SOL. :laugh: But, anyway, I've derailed this thread enough.

Hopefully, once Chunners is released, there will be a steady drip-feed of SF statues to look forward to. We know Sagat's due to debut at SDCC so maybe Dhalsim won't be too far behind...?

The high quality / low ES combination was always the formula to success for this line. I always said back to the roots, this line can still become legendary.
The ES for Chunners Reg was also too high imo, even if she might be the most popular character, 400 of her would have been perfect. In fact I think 400 + 200 for the more known and 300 + 150 for all lesser known would be good.

Let's wait how bad they want it. As I said before, people were ready to "kill" to get an exclusive Guile from PCS when he sold out within an hour, SS even upped the ES from 125 to 175 and now you can even find AP's for retail price...

That's some pretty flawed logic Rainy. Pretty sure Jerry sold about 800 of these bad boys at nearly $400.00 a piece. That's a fair sight more money than what that flipper will make.

If he gets that asking price, he just made my EX Sagat more valuable. Driving up price = driving up interest in the line!

And it's the demand (aftermarket) that drives these keep sell out on preorder.

Because Jerry knows the inevitable! There will always be people selling figures overpriced compared to retail, but that's part of the whole process! what an incredibly odd choice, nobody else in the line is anywhere near an attacking pose, yet for D they distort his face in such a way....oh well i'm sure there will be an alternate head for him, still odd though

no way, no plastic flames! if flames is a must, at least make it a removable add on so purist dont have to display them.

I think any kind of flames or energy things cheapens a statue significantly and make them look like toys.

IMO, adding display options adds to the joy of the piece. I fiddle with Bison more than any other PCS SF statue due to the wide array of display options.

And...

1) I didn't say "plastic".

2) Of course I meant "removable". I said "think Bison". Bison's Resin pieces are removable.

Jerry says that this is a sculpture still in progress and i remember him saying 2 are sculpted and are already with CAPCOM for approvals. Hmmm that means that Blanka, Honda or Balrog will be after Alex. I'm guessing Blanka.

I would also prefer a "serious" looking portrait.

But if his body is positioned in a fire blowing pose, I'm not sure how good a "serious portrait" would look.

I think the sculpt so far looks amazing. But I think an action pose is the wrong way to go for Dhalsim. Meditating or some odd stretching would have been a better choice.

But JM is da man. And I trust his instincts.
