Alien/ Predator Premium Format Figures

Hey all. Just thought I'd post what was on my mind today...

I was admiring a few of my premium format figures when I became a bit annoyed that Sideshow has not yet touched the Alien/ Predator franchise in that medium yet. For me personally, Alien Premium Formats would be exactly what the doctor ordered!!! I have been collecting Alien franchise stuff for about 20 years now and would go insane for a PF of Ripley, Dallas or even Ash!!! I know I know, they don't have the likeness for Sigourney Weaver... but she's not the ONLY person in the entire series ya know!

Sorry... rant over. I just don't understand why Sideshow has been doing everything else with the Aliens and Predators except PFs. What gives?!

Most likely they will make premium formats of the Predators but not for a long time =/

The Alien lends itself to Maquettes, I dont really see it as a PF piece.

Yea, I also don't see the Alien as a Premium Format figure. What I'd like to see however is members of the Nostromo crew or even a few space marines. :waa:

I'd love the Space Marines although i'd want them as maquettes. PF version would be too Action man/GI Joe looking for me.

Hot Toys also has a number of the Alien and Predator characters covered anyway (Nostromo crew members and Colonial Marines)

Not to spat about it but to me, a 12" plastic toy and a Sideshow Collectibles Premium Format are worlds apart. I only display statues in my home... not $300.00 barbie dolls.

No arguement here . . . I'd prefer a maquette to a PF and a PF to a HT figure . . . mind you, I have a couple of HT figures (Blade, Mars Attacks, etc) and in the abscence of any other comparable piece, they are pretty cool ;)

Yea, Hot Toys are good for collecting if your into a certain line... Like Aliens :) . I just don't display them because I really only see them as plastic toys for collecting, not displaying.

A PF of Dallas from Alien would be GREAT!!! Even a Brett and Parker PF !!!

I could really go for a large scale Sulaco [say 4ft] or Drop ship. But what i'll probably get is a little crouching Alien with his tongue out and an Exclusive that's a baby in a bottle.

A Predator 2 PF should be made, I also think Sideshow confirmed that they are making this statue.

Also SS should do a 1:1 Alien Facehugger form the first movie.

We could really use a 'traditional' face hugger too. Another 1:1 piece would be fine, but it needs to be one of the original face huggers. I was never really a fan of the Queen FH that SS put out.

Maybe a Kane PF with him kneeling over the egg and the facehugger about to lunge at his face.
I don't think I'd want any other human PFs. Unless, it was Ripley with Newt but, like you said they dont have the likeness rights. Without her likeness a PF in 1/4 scale would work. IMHO
Ok so I "might" buy a Dutch PF. I would prefer him done like his war cry scene. Covered in mud with the bow on his back and a light up torch.

personally, I would just be happy with a few good 1/4 scale Predators and a couple more 1/4 scale aliens. the human characters for the most part don't fall into my budget and space alllowances.

I think one of the more realistic probabilities for a Predator PF line would be Dutch. Perfect amount of clothing/accessories and we know they can nail the Arnold appearance. All other characters/humans may run into likeness-related licensing issues or just not hold their weight in popularity.
