C.A.P. (Coalition of Avengers Proponents), B.O.T.H. (Brotherhood of the Hammer), and Bowen Knights everywhere--hear me!
There is going to be a most glorious quest that the Thunder God is embarking on, and we need you to help!
What's happening, you may ask?
Thor (at least my Marvel Famous Covers one) is set to tour the globe. I am going on a business trip to Europe today and will be meeting jdh.goodgrief in London in a week's time.
Thor would have flown all the way from Singapore to Geneva to London.
jdh.goodgrief will be entrusted with the Odinson and will pass him to the next Bowen Knight he meets. And then that Bowen Knight will keep him until he meets the next Bowen Knight and so on! The idea is for Thor to log as many miles and be in as many places as possible! We could track his journey right here on the Forum!
If Bowen Knights can't meet in person for some reason? Post him! Let's see how many countries and cities Thor visits in the statueforum.com universe! Let's take pictures, even!
Eventually I'd love to have Thor return home to me but I wish him godspeed. We need YOU to help him on this most glorious quest!

Thor is now in Geneva, Switzerland, and has logged around 11,000 kilometers since he left Singapore.
He will be headed to London to meet jdh.goodgrief by the weekend!
The mighty God of Thunder would be most welcome in front of the Green Monster, on the deck of "Old Ironsides" The U.S.S. Constitution, at Historic Fannueil Hall, and of Course in front of a tall draft of ale at Cheers!

I've been super busy at work here so I may not be able to get a picture of Thor in front of Lake Geneva, and having one of him standing next to a fondue pot wouldn't be very dignified...
I should be able to get a photo of him in London, for sure!
Take lots of pics in London, Batwing, as I don't have a camera. I'll borrow one to snap him in Bedford, before he makes his way to (hopefully) another British forum follower this summer...

If he made it to vegas in the next couple of weeks he could have went cross country with me to michigan in my truck. He would have made it through 11 states. But maybe one day.
Just a quick note to say that I took possession of Thor this morning, when I met Batwing in London. A nicer chap one could not hope to meet. I've promised to love Thor, hug Thor and call him 'George' (I hope some folks will get that reference, otherwise I'll come off looking a little weird), paying particular attention to keeping his flowing locks in good condition. Because he's worth it.
Thor tells me he really likes the Beatles, so the plan is that he'll make his next stop in Liverpool later this summer...

Hi jdh, it was GREAT meeting you, too. Love your office! Such a gothically cool building (the architect's cathedral-building skills have resulted in an amazing building!). Batman (or even Harry Potter!) would feel right at home there!
Thor enjoyed his trip to Switzerland although yours truly was too busy with work to snap any pictures.
The Odinson had a great time in London, though--in spite of the blistering heat! What a great sunny and warm June day for London it was!
The mighty Thunder God had his first picture taken at Buckingham Palace. Even a god can appreciate the monarchy. He also had pictures taken at Westminster Abbey near Big Ben, and then Trafalgar Square. One tourist from Scotland (enjoying the weekend in London) was kind enough to hold Thor up while I took the shot--his hand will be in the picture which I'll share once I get the photos. I have to admit that approaching a Scotsman with a DOLL of a golden haired muscle bound superhero conjured images of Wizard/Toy Fare's Twisted Mego Theatre! Oh, the inhumanity of it all! I was lucky to have escaped with the good natured comments from this native of Glasgow and his wife!
I was so tempted to ask one of the royal guardsmen to hold Thor while I took a picture but he was wielding a most dangerous looking weapon. Out of respect for British traditions, I passed on this one.
The most awesome photo was at Baker Street station--before I visited the Sherlock Holmes museum at 221B Baker Street (recommended for any fan of the Great Detective!), I placed Thor at the base of probably one of the coolest full size statues in London, ever--that of Holmes himself!
Goshdarn it all, I saw Tom Cruise in person at Leicester Square promoting "War of the Worlds". I was within 10 feet of the most famous scientologist of all time and wanted to ask T.C. to pose with Thor for a photo but alas, the Gods wouldn't have it. Forsooth!
jdh.goodgrief will be setting his sights on Liverpool and Thor may have a chance to head out to Ireland (thanks, Bullseye!). Can he make a few stops in other countries in Europe as well before heading to America?

How strange that, while a Glaswegian was taking your photograph in London, I was up in Glasgow (or nearby, at any rate).
I go from Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas to Hong Kong every few months. I could give him a lift tran pacific, as long as he doesn't mind flying coach.

I would have preferred to give KATIE the waterworks, if you know what I mean! :laugh: But I was there when it happened (so was Katie Holmes!). The "jerks" (to quote TC) were arrested but later I read they were released on bail. Quite a stupid thing they did--what if it gave crazy people ideas like squirting acid or something. Scary. Remember what happened to Lennon.
Anyway....
I didn't get any photos of Tom Cruise but I did manage to get one clear close-up of Dakota Fanning.

It's preferable for Forumites/ Bowen Knights to meet face-to-face (like jdh.goodgrief and yours truly) because the point of this 'endeavour' is to connect as many of us as possible.
But going postal is fine if meeting face-to-face really isn't practical. Just make sure it doesn't get lost along the way!!! Thanks!

Thor has now arrived in Liverpool! He met Magneto & Hulk plushes (with whom he got on famously) and will soon be having a tour of the city. Then he will take a trip with me to St Helens before he is passed onto the next forum member who hs not yet been decided. Photos of Thor's adventures will be posted as they become available. :)
Also, met jdh.goodgrief today while at work. Top bloke! It was nice to meet someone else from the forum. We made him listen to cheesy metal but I gave him a bit of discount which helped him live through it. :laugh:

Anyway, this is just a brief hop on to the forum to say that pictures of Thor's adventures in Bedford will arrive soon, when I get hold of the doohickey to connect the camera I borrowed to my computer.
Angie has faithfully promised to care for Thor's every need, paying particularly close attention to his remarkable day-glo hair. I'd best post a big thanks to her for that, and the great customer service she provided on a rather-more-costly-than-I-had-planned trip to the store she works at, Worlds Apart in Liverpool. She's quite a saleswoman, folks should visit the store if they ever get a chance. Even if only to sample the metal :buttrock: (that is the only time I have ever felt it appropriate to use that grotesque little smiley...)
In Worlds Apart, I saw Chrome GR for the first time too - never been more glad I went for painted. Scarlet Witch has sparkly eyes, what a revelation. Gambit looked like a great sculpt, though. Shame about the character...

I reside in Miami Florida; I will be traveling to the cloud rainforests of Western Costa Rica on September 19th where I will gladly take the mighty one along for the journey to pristine Central America. Then I will be going to Orlando for Fright Nights around Halloween/late October. In the interim I can take him to South Beach for well deserved sun and fun. After his treks with me he will then be entrusted upon the next worthy god of thunder disciple. I am extending myself for the honor (and of course will photograph him on his journeys :).................

By Odin's Beard!!! What is this that I read; Tis' true, I have been entrusted with the golden manned god of thunders imminent presence!! Today is truly a great day for this midgardian disciple of the hammer wielder!!
Throughout our journey's I intend to keep him safely guarded and will pass him along in the same condition as I have received him. Unless he decides to unleash Mjolnir's might upon some hapless sap (which for this I cannot be held accountable) he will always be in good company.
When he is received I will let everyone know via post. Rest Assured Batwing, he will be treated as only a Odin son should be…… with the upmost care.
All hail Thor!! For Asgard!!!

I could take him on a tour in Belgium , but how it gets here is another question.
Although I have to be in Schotland for work in Oktober but don't know if I have free time to spend to pick it up somewhere.
And from here I could easely take him to Holland or even France.
Might be in London with the holidays but that's not for another couple of months.

If someone can get Thor to Cage, Thor can tour Boston. If I could pick him up there, I could bring him to the NE Patriots game the next day, and then pass him off to CK13 when he has to stop in Rocky Hill, CT for work. Thor needs to THOROUGHLY tour the USA, inlcuding Hawaii (thanks, guys!) but also Europe--as many countries as possible, before heading back to Asia Pacific (Australia and Singapore last)

Any chance yours was taken in as a stray, Angie? Ours came to us in our old flat, where it was "no pets allowed". We fed her for a couple of days, enticing her over with 'Here Puss Puss', stuff like that, and by the time we decided to bend the rules and keep her, no other name seemed to fit.
My wife finds it embarrassing when they call out 'Puss Puss Harrold' when it's our turn at the vets...

I'm the only one who really uses the internet and e-mail so it's become my identity over time. Now I have a son Trevor and I have not yet figured how to cleverly work his name into the mix.
When we lived in an apartment and then a condo, I told my wife it wasn't fair to an animal to have such a small space. When we moved into our first house, of course we had to get a dog. In order to cement the deal in getting a dog, my wife suggested Jazz as a name as she thought I'd like that. The rest is history.

In all seriousness I just got back from my trip last week, I have allot of Thor pic's in South Florida and Costa Rica that will be forthcoming this week. It has been eventful having to explain to people why I have been taking pictures of a doll but Thor has proven to be quite the ice breaker in conversation, this week I hope to schedule one last escapade for the Thunder God and then he should be on his way. I will send him where his overseerer, Batwing, chooses me too however he has throughly enjoyed the states and I feel he wants to continue exploring on this side of the pond.
