FYI - for those interested, I just used priceline (4 Star option and select Convention center) and got a hotel at the Renaissance for $145 a night (on line price is $300)

I posted this info over at Timsale1.com and someone mentioned this hotel is not that close to the new location of the convention.

About a 3 mile drive...lousy walk though. There are closer hotels no doubt, but it isn't that far off.

Are you going to the Boston Comic Con? Planning on stopping in NY while you're out here?

I was mixing up the convention centers

no worries on my end though as this is a great hotel and a short cab ride to the show is not a big deal

the moral though is to use priceline as you can save a lot of money and get top-shelf hotels

$145 is a great price for that hotel, and a cab is the way to go...not a bad ride at all.

People looking for a closer hotel could try Hotel Commonwealth in Kenmore square. The subway stop is practically under the hotel and it is one stop to the Convention center. About 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile walk if that's your bag...nice walk too. It's right by fenway park if you are a baseball fan.

I'm not going. I'm going to Wondercon at the beginning of April. If all goes according to plan (meaning I don't blow my budget in San Diego) I'm planning on going to NYCC in October.

Charles - Thanks for the generosity, but I don't need to hit you up. I snagged 2 seats for the saturday night game v seattle off the sox's website.

Although a forum lunch one of the days might be in order
