If anything I would like it to be real bronze with a marble base-- that's how iconic I think the character is. But I think sculpted would be something different than the 1/4 pf line.

I was of the mind of having ultimate Ryu in mixed media, but I now lean on fully sculpted, because it gives the sculptor full control of the piece, rather than being at the mercy of a less-than-awesome tailored outfit from the factory.

Except that fully sculpted might get more, much more complain than the clothing ones, because there are always people unsatisfied with the final product, crack, bad paint jobs, and all the other flaws that are found only on fully sculpted statue.

3.I think having the entire statue, including the uniform sculpted by the man himself would be awesome.

Ryu you are right. I do agree with you it should be full sculpted. My stupid A$$ didn't bother reading the full comment. This Ryu if it's ever made it should be full sculpted because it will be one of kind. Jerry won't be making any other 1/3 scale.

I think it'd be really awesome for you to sculpt this one. It's outside of you're 1/4 line and it's something unique that you get to sculpt at this size. But whichever you do finally chose to do, I'll respect your decision.

B and C have my vote, but me thinks Ryu with his Gi top down sculpted by J would look amazing, and we have never seen that in any format.:thinking:

You know what now that I read all the posts I think sculted clothing would look better cause if Jerry is going to do him in a ha-do-Ken pose then sculpted clothing would show the power flow around him by making the clothing look like the wind is flowing around him. Having mix media wouldn't look as epic cause the clothes would just lay there on his body and the pose wouldn't look as exciting imo.

I would have to agree with this post!....that's why i was asking Jerry what pose and version etc!.... sculpted statue would best represent the look of Ryu doing Hadouken!

It's gonna be a challenge doing the Hadouken pose. It definitely needs light up feature for this. But that's the best pose for this. I can't wait to see this.

Is Jerry gonna even make 1/3 scale RYU. We are getting exited for no reason probably.
As I remember he said he will be made in 2011. But if you look at his project for the year that was previously posted, 1/3 scale RYU is not on it ?

I really think Jerry we should create a new Poll Stat for this Ryu 1/3. Because i for example have changed my mind after i read couple of posts. I voted for cloth but now i'm Leaning extremely to Full sculpt.

I would prefer Mixed Media but I'm cool with a fully sclupted Ryu as well. My reason for a PF is most pics I've seen with the 1/4 Ryu is opened top gi/bare chest. It gives the owners options on how to display the piece.

As for fully sclupted, it would look amazing as well. The piece will have that awesome wind look to the gi.

People shouldn't really panic. I mean the sculpt will be great whether fabric or not. So why panic? Whatever Jerry goes for, it won't disappoint. I'll be ready. And you should too :)
