Just took some pics, not the best, but you can have an idea. I was going to post in the other thread started by C1eaN, but it's getting too loaded already.
I really love this thing, likeness is excellent(much better personally!), details are incredible. Love the base. A very solid piece overall. :buttrock:

Very nice!

Mine should be here this week. The face is not pefect but overall I like it a lot.

Now, is the whole thing a statue (sculpted)??? It looks great, especially for $300 shipped!

Gruson,
Trust me, the pics doesn't make justice to his face. It looks much, much better personally. Looks kind of washed in the pics.
Yes, the whole statue it's sculpted(minus the gun's "belt")

I got mine today.

The box was beat to hell. Even the actual Attakus box was smashed in and the styrofoam was cracked and showing.

Luckily, Arnold was in one piece.

This is an INCREDIBLE looking piece and a keeper for sure. Awesome job Attakus.

This is a must for any Terminator fan IMO.

Gru/Cap,

I just noticed that Gru's pic next to Vader2 seems like Arnie is in a bigger scale. I realize it is lower and closer but that didn't seem to make up for the difference. Is it just a perspective issue or is Arnie bigger?

EDIT:: I just looked on the Attakus site and they are both 17.3"...hmmmm

Perspective, C1eaN. It's the same scale. Vader it's just a little bigger. The T3 have the same size on paper, but I think the height of the gun counts. So Vader have a tad bigger body. If you see Gruson's pictures, the Terminator also looks bigger than SS 007(a 23" statue).

The flash from the camera takes away from it IMO.

I love the piece, it's even better than I thought it would be.

Gir
06-18-2005, 12:51 PM
you need contacts...that looks just like arnie...

No...I just tell it like it is. You can pretend that it looks perfect, but it's not. The Cinemaquette figure has a better likeness, but it's not perfect either.

Gruson
06-18-2005, 03:21 PM
While it's not perfect, I agree, it's DAMN good and a fine piece.

I believe you like a lot of the GG pieces, right Gir? It's a LOT more perfect than those for sure. :)

Gir
06-18-2005, 05:41 PM
I actually don't own any Gentle Giant collectibles featuring characters with their faces exposed for that very reason. I think GG is getting better though.

It seems like most studios have trouble with human faces. I think it's more of a natural consequence of being human than a fault of the sculptors. In day to day life, we must be capable of distinguishing between hundreds or thousands of people, and we do that primarily by recalling a ridiculous amount of minute details about people's faces.

Gruson
06-18-2005, 06:04 PM
I agree Gir, humans are tough. :)

To me at least, I think Sideshow has done the best. The most recent Luke and Han pictures look really good....and I am VERY picky.

No...I just tell it like it is. You can pretend that it looks perfect, but it's not. The Cinemaquette figure has a better likeness, but it's not perfect either.

I eagerly await your list of "perfect" things in the world. To make it easier for you, I will allow any item in the physical world we occupy to be on the list but it must be perfect.

Since I can assume your list will comprise of....well....nothing....why is bringing the face sculpts lack of 'perfect' status to this thread? If nothing is 'perfect' why does this come as a surprise to you?

Let me say that as a future (and very excited) owner of this piece I am not being defensive of the sculpt but at my limit with posts discussing the obvious ad nauseam. Only Arnie loks like Arnie but since this started out as a block of sculpey I'd say...well done.

Gir,

I am curious, which statues do you own and think look good?

I am very picky myself but this Terminator piece is very nice. If it wasn't, I would have sold it right away.

I also love the Attakus Vader and Maul statues. RWOS is perfect from Sideshow as well. The new MR AT-AT (with snow base) is amazing IMO. Even Koto sandtroopers look nice...

Anyway, just wondering....to each their own but I am curious.

[QUOTE=Gruson]Gir,

[QUOTE]

I don't really want to get into that. It's all personal preference. I am not willing or able to overlook certain flaws of this statue that others apparently are willing or able to overlook. For other statues, the opposite may be true. I'm sure there are statues that I find pleasing to the eye that you don't care for.

Someone said this statue looks just like Arnold, and I disagreed. It's as simple as that.

Just so I am clear...you want your assessment of others likes and dislikes to be respected but are not willing to open your likes and dislikes to the same level of scrunity? I thought this whole thing was a give and take kinda thing.....hmmmm

C1eaN
06-28-2005, 10:06 PM
lemme clarify.... I am mad about the shipping delay not concerned about the legitimacy of the deal. A friend who lives in France got it for me. He found the B&M after seeing an Ebay.fr auction and called them. He liked the guy enough he bought a few things for himself while he was there. I have no doubt the deal is legit. He even went to the shop and inspected it for me before paying the guy the cash I Paypal'd him.

He scanned the 'La Poste' information etc but the shop owner sent it insured but not with tracking (economy). I think La Poste and/or USPS need to get their *@!% together!

But I'll need to see this personally.

Now where is the TERMINATRIX????

[Cipher]
06-30-2005, 10:25 AM
I have to agree to everything that has been said - the photos really don't do the likeliness justice, the face is so hard to picture from the right angles.
And here as well, some pics of mine:

On the box (at least on the european one), there is no announcement for a Terminatrix, but for a Battle Damaged T850. :buttrock:

They should really do a TERMINATRIX in human form, 'cause that hasn't done before.
We already have authentic Arnolds and Endos made by either SIDESHOW or CINEMAQUETTE. Do we really need more of these????

C1ean when I order from the Americas using standard airmail I don't get nervous for at least the first 3 weeks. Usually, for me, when it takes longer either the seller lied about the shippingdate or it is held at customs for one reason or another. My buddy actually got the La Poste reciept and scanned a .jpg and emailed it to me the day after he said it shipped. it had dates and amounts stamped on it as a computer/meter would do so I am positive he sent it when he said he did.

It's nice but I prefer the Cinemaquette so I don't need this one now.

Anyone want it? I will make you a deal.

If I didn't have one I'd get this in a hearbeat from ya....your stuff is consistently flawless and packed professionally.

If anyone is even thinking about a Terminator piece....grab this from G now...you will not regret it!!
