Been a while since I've posted reviews! I've been doing them on the website on a regular basis but just haven't been posting them anywhere, so here's a recent one.

Original review with higher res pics over here :

Sideshow Collectibles Indiana Jones Temple of Doom Exclusive Premium Format review (http://www.whatsyourobsession.com/sideshow-collectibles-indiana-jones-temple-of-doom-exclusive-premium-format-review/)

--------------

I missed my chance to get the original Indiana Jones Premium Format, and I wasn’t too excited about the one from the recent movie. Indy’s been one of my favourite film characters for a long time, I thought Temple of Doom was great, and I loved the Mola Ram Premium Format statue, so I was pretty jacked to review this one.

This is a dirty, battle-wounded Indy. Temple of Doom is a darker film so it makes sense that they decided on a look from near the end of the movie. He’s bloodied up in multiple areas, he’s got a sleeve torn off, he’s a real mess at this point. But that doesn’t stop him from looking like he’s going to wreck you if you get in his way. The effect of the battle damage is rather nicely done all around, although it does look a little weird around the knee area. It has a consistently good paintjob over the entire piece, looking both convincing and well applied even in detailed areas like the bandages and face.

In terms of accessories, it comes with Indy’s messenger bag, the three Sankara stones, his knife, and an alternate arm. The alternate arm gives it a more action oriented pose as you’ll see in later photos. If you get the exclusive, you also get the cup with monkey brains, a real classic moment from the movie! It even opens up so you get a full shot of the brains. Delicious!

As much as I enjoy the original Premium Format Indiana Jones, this one has a better likeness. Perhaps the best likeness of Harrison Ford I’ve seen to date. Just look at the next photo, that is spot on Harrison Ford! Great intense expression too. The fabric came out well, great fabric choices that look the part and feel good, not thin or cheap in the slightest.

The base matches up really well with the Mola Ram and really, the Indiana Jones feel. All sorts of different skulls underneath a rocky base? Pretty much perfect. Between this and the first Indy, you’ve got a great clean museum pose and a battle-damaged more action pose. What really matters is which one you prefer, because they’re both excellent statues. Or if you want another way to look at it, do you want archaeologist Indy, or warrior Indy?

5/5. A gorgeous statue that looks great by itself, with Mola Ram, or with the other Indy statues. Thanks again to Sideshow Collectibles for providing this review sample.
