they are just over priced 1000 run artist proofs availbale to CS members only
the differece in the actual product is (edition number stamped on it) and its high-grade steel and the plaque is different.

Thumbs up to MR! They were able to sell out 1000 items in 14 minutes and their servers didn't choke (from what I've heard). Then they turn around and start shipping the same day.

Gentle Giant should take some lessons from them.

The elites are special in that they really light up with a plasma core and everything! Not like the FX either....the Elites are REAL lightsabers and that's why people pay $1000+ for them.

Okay, correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't Luke's IV saber be the same as Anakin's III saber? I know Obi-Wan grabbed it the last time he saw Anakin. The pictures below show different sabers (notice the gold part). Did Obi-Wan modify it or is this just an error?

"OK, have had it in my hands for the past hour. figured I'd give a ver quick review.

First off I'm disappointed. LET ME EXPLAIN... lol.

The saber is VERY nice. Good weight, overall quality is nice... BUT there are a few things that are really irking me.

1) My biggest problem. The Bubbles on the control box were glued into place with a clear glue or epoxy of some kind. If you look at the bubbles, you can see the glue glopped behind them. It makes it look like a kid put it together.

2) Not having a crystal. The ROTJ had one and I kind of figured it was sort of a feature of the EE. Guess not.

3) Not numbered. This is one of only 1000 peices mad EVER. and how do you prove that you got one of the original 1000. You can't. Part of limitting the run and making the peice a collectors item, in my mind, means the peices are numbered.

4) The palque not reflecting the edition size. WHAT? thats rediculous. Someone looks at the peice, asks what the number is about and you tell them it's number xxx of 1000, where is the proof in that?

The peice is very nice, but it seems like the sort of peice I would have expected to recieve as an LE. There dosn't seem to be anything that sets it apart as an ELITE.

Mabye I was expecting more, or just expecting too much but i'm pretty supprised. Like I said, I would have bought the peice reguardless as this was the ONE I have really been looking forward to. Just don't know that it deserves the EE title."

i'll have to check that when mine come in. i didn't receive an email with tracking numbers. they're still having problems on that still. i called MR and spoke to a customer rep who helped me out. looks like mine will arrive on July 7.

LOL. he was pretty happy getting #11. i got a kick out of that. :laugh: he's crazier than i am when it comes to getting low numbers. he'll pay double for Artist Proofs. LOL. i'm in it for the hobby.

the total came out to something like $9 to ship the saber through UPS ground from CA to FL. we get pretty good deals. i mentioned this to one of the shipping guys and he said one of the worst places to ship anything due to high cost is Ireland. i took a mental note. :laugh: sorry Bulls!

i finally displayed mine (#12). i was expecting a little more "bling". the AOTC Anakin saber looks more "elite". i guess i'm comparing it to the first one. i could get nitpicky with some of the reports people have made but i can overlook them. overall, it's a nice piece!
