View Full Version : A little Cinemaquette information

For those that do not know, the next two pieces from Cinemaquette should be the alien from ALIEN and the predator from Predator. My guess is that we should see pictures of them very soon.

I also read this:
Each year will see between 6 and 10 new Cinemaquette releases, with many more icons from science-fiction, fantasy, action and horror film on the way.

and other recently acquired licenses means you will see Cinemaquette's of characters from movies like THE LORD OF THE RINGS, the INDIANA JONES TRILOGY and many, many more classic motion pictures.

It looks like this will now be my main focus in collecting now. I just need to put aside about $10,000 a year for them. lol

I really want to know who else they plan on making from the Indiana Jones trilogy. :)

Indy will be the only one I will get from the Indy Trilogy, doesn't matter what they release from it. May get the Alien, but the Predator I'm getting for sure.

i don't think it would be a wise marketing move to produce other Indy characters. we only need Indiana. :)

Yeah, I do not know if would buy anyone other than Indy either....I could see them making Henry though.

P1, you sure you would not buy the big German mechanic with his shirt off? :) lol

I was just going to order the Arnold piece but now I plan on getting the T-X, T-800, and Arnold. (great.....)

Alien and Predator are no brainers for me. :buttrock:

I always liked Toht...very cool character IMO. The German mechanic is also great...I REALLY need to watch Raider again, it's been far too long.

As for the fat guy, my friends and I always argued if that was a man or a woman....

In addition to Predator, I think it'd be cool to have Arnold's character from that movie. He'd look different enough from the T-850 because he'd be all painted up and camouflaged.

I agree 100% Richard, Dutch would be great and I would buy him.

Maybe he can even say, "GET TO DA CHOPPPAAA!!!" ;)

If cinemaquette does not make him, maybe Sideshow will in 1/4 scale.

For someone that said not so long ago that Cinemaquettes were very expensive to collect and you would buy only the ones you REALLY, really wanted...
You sure changed your mind, Gruson. ;)

Here are my wants for future Cinemaquettes:

Superman (Reeves)
Robocop
Darkness (Legend)
Batman (Keaton)
Rocky (from Rocky III or IV)
Apollo Creed (from Rocky II)
Meg Mucklebones (Legend)

Hopefully they'll come up with a payment plan or reduce their prices. Damn pissed that I wasn't allowed to get the T-850.

LOL

Things change Cap!

I was only going to collect Sideshow 1/4 pieces but the detail in the Cinemaquette line is just awesome and I am all about quality pieces.

Candy, as for pieces I hope they make, I REALLY want:
Superman (Reeve)
Batman (Keaton)

I would also love a 1/5 scale T-Rex from Jurassic Park...1/3 scale would be far too large. ;)

and if they got the Star Wars line...well, it's over and I will be broke.

That's what I'm doing with the majority of my stuff right now. Getting rid of everything to focus on the high-end stuff. I just feel weird about devoting my time/effort/money into just collecting one type of statue. I'm also trying to save up for Indy.

Gruson
06-30-2005, 01:19 PM
I also did the same.

I sold off a LOT of LOTR statues, Bowen pieces, and some other busts, etc.

The high end stuff just looks incredible when displayed.

Hey candyrocket, what part of Houston do you live in? I was born and raised there. Spent most of my life in the Bellaire and Meyerland area. I've only been up in Oklahoma the last 3 years.

Bartlesville??!?! Nice. Let me guess...you work at Phillips gas? :)

Funny, my fiancee is from Bartlesville We are going up there for her high school reunion soon.

*IF* we get into these, right now would only be interested in Alien, Predator, Terminator endo and TX. However, will have to see what LOTR looks like (maybe sell Sideshow versions to get these).

If they do Star Wars, it's all over.
OT
Luke (Jedi variant), Leia (slave variant), Han, Chewy, Lando, C3PO, R2, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Vader, Emperor, Royal Guard, Stormtrooper, Tie Pilot, Rebel Pilot
Prequels
Anakin, Padme (Queen variants), Obi-Wan, Mace, Qui-Gon, younger Yoda, Royal Guard, Clone Trooper (variants), Ep III Stormtroopers (variants)
Droids, Aliens, Jedis, more variants, yada-yada...

I'd have to sell my car.

Gruson, actually my wife works for ConocoPhillips. I'm a stay-at-home dad right now to our one year old. That's how I have lots of time to post and little money to buy. :( I'll get back to work eventually so I can start giving it all to Cinemaquette.

Candyrocket, I bet it's nice and hot down there today. I certainly don't miss the Houston humidity.

They "may" get SW license, and if they do, the question is "when" the first SW statue will become available. It can be next year, it can be 5 years from now, it can be more. Who knows...
A 1/3 scale Vader would be AWESOME! :buttrock:
I can only dream. Maybe someday. Will keep my fingers crossed, and my "savings" ready. ;)

Very nice! You have two nice couples there! Chew - Han and 3PO - R2! Maul looks awesome! I'm just collecting SW busts and statues, GG's and Koto's so far. I'm waiting Attakus series 4 to get some pieces and will get some of the Attakus old series soon in a trip to NY! Ah! and pre-ordered Grievous Sideshow. My marriage is at risk!

and you are welcome, Gianco. And thanks. :)
Still a loooong way, tough, until everything is properly displayed and assembled.

I'm finishing building the fourth Detolf. These stands are very nice for the price. They don't fit some of the bigger Attakus statues, tough(and anything bigger than 15.5"), but they make a nice display overall, and you can use the top. Very happy with these stands. Just found out earlier that one came broken, tough. :(
Oh well...

I have asked also details reagarding the Aragorn.

The answer:

"Thank you for your interest in our Aragorn Cinemaquette. The Cinemaquette displayed at SDCC was indeed a prototype and still is undergoing changes. There are some changes we are making on the face as well as other features. We hope you will enjoy the finished product when it's released. Thank you for your support.

Just got off the phone with Cinemaquette and I was informed that the 1:3 alien that they were showing at SDCC will be officially announced for all to see this September and will be available around halloween.

The 1:3 pred is the same deal, but for 2006. In terms of price point I was told "Don't be surprised if it (Predator) hits almost $2000."

I can`t think on how the SS maquette can be improved upon the pose, size etc. are all imo perfect. It will have to be VERY special for me to get the CM over the SS version especially at what`ll be about 3 to 4 times the price. But I guess if anyone can make a better predator CM can.
