Newbie question - Baking

I am completely new to sculpting and this site has been very helpful. I was wondering if I am supposed to bake the wood base along with my sculpt or remove the sculpt from the base before I bake. I know the oven temp should be pretty low but is there any chance the base can burn? Thanks in advance.

You should be fine baking the wood... It takes more than 250-275 for wood to ignite:)
