yea, that is very true, my wife got little scared tho. haha, btw, no one afraid that this one look pretty easy to fall from the front, I am always afraid some statues like this is heavy in the front and light at the back.

"She" because it was granted with "statue", which is a feminine word in french.

"Congrats guys who own this statue, she looks great even if I won't get it!.."

But now that I reflect "it" was correct, like a statue is an object we can't use "she"...

Well, my english is far to be perfect so sorry if I make some faults, I make a lot of efforts to do my best!..

No, I would argue that you were correct in referring to the the statue itself in the female form rather than the character. It's very common practice in America to use "she" or "her" when speaking about an object or an item that holds value to the owner.

"Hey Jerry, nice Ferrari, she looks amazing"!

or

"Check out my new Glock, I take her with me everywhere I go".

Nouns can take on a gender based on the viewers opinion of the object. I.E., Ferrari's are "sexy", therefore would take on a female gender role as an object.

Yes, Old English vs. Modern English.

I can't speak for other countries, but in America it's definitely not uncommon for men to give their cars, trucks, and motorcycles names. Sometimes feminim names and sometimes masculine. Guns too.

Ah - right.. I thought somehow you had the glass shelf pushed back so the sword was positioned in front of it.. illusion of a 2d picture..

ok sick statue - as I thought this mofo takes up about 3/4 of a detolf :D

We need a statuehunter video review in the house :D

Edit - oh wait.. my bad again LOL.. it won't even fit in a detolf because of depth? hmmm... well all the best pieces don't unfortunately.. I suppose it is too wide to position on the side too.. could maybe get away with an angle?

But I'm sure it will fit on the bottom shelf of my Ikea Besta!! Video soon to come also a small tid bit of my statue collection set up in my new apartment the Mrs. only allowed me to have 2 Detolfs and 2 Bestas but I put most off the good ones in them. Just for curiosity's sake, what is feminine about that pose? To me it looks like he's doing the most epic battle cry ever and putting evil on notice.

Now maybe if his left hand was on his hip, his head was cocked back, and his lips were pursed...:confused2

Yes sir I did , it was cool and all but I as my kid did not want it to look cartoonish , my kid said hey dad anyway to make him have that fur to stick out ? It was just a darker brown wash that I jus brushed on and wiped off before it dried , did it to the hair as well, and added a bit of a gum color to the teeth

the statue looked great and all but as I was attaching lion-o's body to the base very slowly and carefully (they come separate), the moment the boot touched the base, the bottom of his left boot blue coloring chipped off and now it has a white spot (no blue color) on the bottom of his left boot and some blue coloring scattered on the base. I got so frustrated and walked away....haven't looked at the statue since...still waiting to calm down.

Looks cool with the darker wash.... Warner Bros would never approve anything like that though.

I do think a lot of the pics here are misleading...the paint is exactly the same as the one shown at Comic Con last year.

It only looks lighter in pics, not in person.

My apologies to anyone who got a damaged one. Sideshow should take care of you.

Yes pics are misleading as it tends to look more lighter and the flash does wash out the detail, and I agree it looks exactly as the one at the comicon no one should be disappointed at all as it comes . They really made it look great and as the cartoon , my kid just wanted it a bit less cartoonish , but it is an amazing piece untouched

Just opened mine up and its HUGE!!!
Def one of those pieces that looks awesome in hand and pic just don't do it enough justice.

I haven't tried forcing the foot to the base, but mine's got a small gap.
Also when Lion-O is on the base it make the base wobbly. Anyone notice this with theirs??

Just want to add that the new foam's are 100% better. Thanks Jerry for making this change.
Now I don't have to get the vaccum cleaner ready, when I unpack PCS Statues.

Yeh the statue does seem a little unbalanced(and wobbly) with all that weight in him towards the front.

Luckily the stone base is weighted towards the back so its not soooo bad. But I would have preferred it a little more stable.

Got my Lion-o arrived last week and overall he's pretty awesome. But there is one thing that's been bothering me. My Lion-O leans to his left very slightly. At first i thought it was normal, but the more i looked at it the more i felt he was off. I finally decided to wiggle him a little to see if he was firmly on the base and was surprised to find that his right foot was not completely planted evenly on the base. Alot of his weight appears to be focus on the left side of the feet, allowing me to rock him left and right. After spending $400+ on this piece, i don't want to end up with another leaning Vega. Anyone else having this problem with their Lion-O?

#157 came today, the thing is AWESOMELY HUUUGE!! love it!! theres only one thing i need to question -- did anyone else find the back foot is not really touching the base? like just barely off it? just curious. Also was abit annoyed, my Lion-o has a small paint chip on his upper lip on his right side which is plain to see and very noticeable when the lights go on and shines through it. Kinda ruins the feature for me which is a pity. I was thinking of using Warhammer Paint to conceal it.

Anyone else have any cloth tear under the crotch?

Where the seams meet under his crotch the stitching has come undone and I fear it will eventually tear all the way across. It is about half undone already.

The cloth suit is sown shut so I cant take it off so its not really fixable either (I dont have the exclusive so I cant remove his straps I dont think anyways).

Collectors I think most of us who wanted Lion-O have now received them. I think it's a fantastic piece and should have sold out long ago.

My only issue or concern is the statue being very front end heavy. I feel that you only need a tiny amount of pressure to the front of the base for the statue to topple over or a slight knock to your display cabinet by kids for it to go over.

Do you think Sideshow will let me return it for a full refund plus shipping?

I can bet over the next few years we will hear and see a lot of them damaged on this and other forums:thumbsdow

even though i have one of my own, i just love looking at other peoples Lion-o's they have recieved. I was sooo damn close to bailing on this due to $$$ issues but Girlfriend said No and that I would regret it. Lucky I didn't, especially after the Rogue fiasco I'm about to deal with when I get mine (getting immediate refund), So happy I have Lion-o here now and Happy other collectors have him to. He's so freakin badass!!!!!!

NICE PICS FLAVIO SNK!!!

So a few weeks ago I received my lion-o ex number 101/375 and there were two flaws. There was light shinning through a small hole out the eyebrow when the light was on and there was also red paint on his teeth. So I sent him back and received my replacement today hoping it would be perfect but I was wrong. There is a chip at the back of the glove. I got number 347/375. I spoke to SS and I sent them the pics. So now I have to wait up to 5 business days for them to get back to me. This is so annoying. Plus they sent me a letter in the box stating that a QC person checked the statue before opening an thats y it would appear that it was opened. I'm curious if anyone had this number 347/375 and that's the real reason that it was open. It's hard to believe SS sometimes.

Sucks to see your replacement was flawed. My replacement was worse that my original too. I was told about them openning it up to inspect it as well.

Well, i received mine(Exclusive version),number 215/375, about a week ago.
In the first chance i get i will post some pics, Lion-o looks truly awesome, he is so good beyond my expectations!!

Alucard, too bad with the flaws, about the QC you mentioned, i remember that when i opened mine there was a pink round sticker inside the box stating 'QUALITY CHECKED'. I think this is a way of reasuring customers that their product has been double checked prior to being sold and avoid any flaws like the ones you mentioned above. Logically, the 'Quality Checked' sticker must have been on every Lion-o sold, so everyones who has received the statue must have seen it. Now i don't know why they passed it up and didn't see he 'problematic' Lion-Os.

However, i need to stress here that nothing is perfect, even on PF highly detailed statues and if we start searching with a microscope i am sure we are going to find plenty of minor blemishes, which don't distract from the eye appeal at all:wink2:

I agree. I have 5 SS statues, all of which have small imperfections, but only when looking for them. My lion-o had a faulty sword and my replacement had a chip on the mouth and flawed belt logo.

I just wanted a statue that didn't have a glaring flaw.

I have one now that I'm happy with!

After inspecting my Lion-o i didn't notice any flaw like the one you mentioned guys. Besides this statue is so awesome from the top to the bottom, that even a small blemish wouldn't distract from its overall eye appeal.

I believe that when they check them, they are aware of these small flaws but they don't pay too much attention, i think it depends on how fastidious and scrupulous a collector is.

Well SS said they don't have any replacements. They offered me $40 off any statue I have in order or a full refund that I can put on any statue I want. I decided to keep it so I'm opting for the $40. I'll just put some epoxy there and paint it.

Is Lion-O a larger scale or is He-Man a smaller?

Or when comparing the worlds is LionO just that much larger than HeMan is?
They ever been in a cross-over or something?

They ever been in a cross-over or something? They are the same 1:4 scale, but Lion-O is massive compared to He-Man. I actually don't like how they look displayed next to each other.

Lion o is large for 1/4 scale.

He Man is small for 1/4 scale.

That is all.

As far as how they appear on their respective shows. Nearly identical. However, if I had to pick which character I think is usually larger...

I'd say He-Man is the larger of the two.

Thought I'd do some research to confirm my 'feeling' about He-Man's size vs Lion O.

Lion-O

Real name: Lion-O
Marital Status: Single
Known Relatives: Claudis (father, deceased), unnamed mother (deceased)
Group Affiliation: Thundercats
Base Of Operations: Cat’s Lair on Third Earth
Height: 6’4 Weight: 225 lbs
Eyes: Yellow (slit) Hair: Red

He-Man

Real Name: Prince Adam
Place of Birth: Eternia
Gender: Male
Height: 6’11” (5’2” as Prince Adam)
Weight: 320 pounds (98 pounds as Prince Adam)
Eyes: crystal blue
Hair: blond

He-Man is massively bigger. Love both characters btw. And both statues are fantastic!

Where are you getting those stats? The Adam only being 5'2 leads me to believe they are coming from the 200x version of Masters of the Universe. He-Man was indeed taller than most of his compatriots in that show.

In the classic MotU, which the statue in question is based off of, He-Man was never, ever shown to be 6'11 unless everyone, or around 95% of the Masters, Eternians, Etherians, Skeletor's goons, Hordaks Horde and the Snakemen are all 6'11 too.

http://www.blastr.com/sites/blastr/files/he-man-and-the-masters-of-the-universe.jpg

They are all the same height, with the women being around 1-2 inches shorter with 3 inch heels on. I'm guess, based off of average male and female heights when the show was created that the women are 5'8 to 5'9 and the men are 6'2 to 6'3.

He-Man's bio isn't easy to come by. But it'd tend to agree that 6'3" would seem to be accurate to the original series. As he's been shown to be equal height to Superman.

That bio appears on three different sources. But it must be referring to the newer series.
