What programs are there out there to enhance your photo's for mac?

The girl that works beside me here in the office is always editing her photos with photoshop. I think that will probably be your best choice for a mac. However, I am sure there are some other good ones out there that you can use.
I have the canon EOS rebel XS and it came with some pretty neat software that lets you adjust some of the settings as if you were still in the camera.
Great job though! I am having trouble taking some inside shots with my stock lens but I really just need to setup statues with better background and lighting.
I think the best experience you will have taking these photos is on a bright day. Take one of these statues outside on a table and let the sun do the work for you.

Good luck!

Photoshop is the best, but it's quite expensive. A good alternative is Gimp, it's a freeware that I use and it works well, less powerfull than Photoshop but you can already do very good things if you know it :thumbs2:

There is also a huge community around Gimp, so you can easily find plenty of help, tutorials or advices on the web!..

Nice pics by the way ;)

The price isn't bad on that one too. After I get all I need for my bass I kind of want to invest in this lens.
You must have an awesome job Firefly! Lol.

Hey thanks quest and sftoyspirit..... I didn't know trying to take a good picture could be so hard. Wiz I am in the Army...... if I become a sergeant major in 6 more years I'll be super....., I sold a huge 15 year Air Jordan and gi joe 3 3/4 collection. Trying to replace the collection with quality statues that can get me the same amount back or more.

Again thanks for the advice and I am going to try something out this weekend picture wise hope it works out. Then off to photoshop land lol

Thanks antnie, the military moved my collection to Kansas but I can't move into the house I decided to rent until oct 1st. I am so scared of what they could have broken.

I will try my best to take a collection shot

A few pointers I can give if wanted.

Put the object you want to photograph by a blank wall.
Photographers uses an artificial light source to create gleam and shininess, you can use a lamp and position a mirror to create the same effects.
Remember, you can Photoshop and alter all you want but the better picture you take with the camera the better results you get.

Could that be from having to many lights on?

Yes looks like you got a yellow light coming from the left (probably a light bulb) and blueish light from the right ( window perhaps)

Practice makes perfect! Nice Thor btw....You are on fireeeee! :D

no. if you're using regular light bulbs, they give a warmer color, but your camera picks it up even more. so that setting compensates for it. if you shoot under florecents, check that setting. sometimes you just have to play woth the setting.

it'll work with any lense.

Yea that's the sliding glass door to the left. Blueish is the shadow. Crazy I'm gonna try and find a light.

Thanks also Questdizzle

One of the best and most intuitive photo editing programs out there is Lightroom 3. Nice pics, jealous of the 50mm 1.8
