Does anybody know how large (tall) this statue is? I'm considering getting this, but DST's website doesn't have any info on size. TIA!

I think it was under 12 inches, if I remember it was about 8 inches ...

Azog

That sounds right sniper, in scale with the other milestones statues...base is not large at all on this one...

Bullseye

Marvel Milestones is quite a large scale. I think the Wolverine Brood is MM. I think this maybe another line.

IT was in previews and I remember thinking after I read the description that is a small piece that would go well with my mini statues. I liked the piece except for the dark areas representing his hair on the arms..

Fair enough Azog. Then this should be pretty big. 8 - 9".

I got the feeling it was going to be quite small, or at least smaller than Bowen scale. But I haven't seen one in person yet to confirm or deny this.

If possible, please snap a shot of it with a Bowen FS so we can see the relative sizes. For an $85 MSRP, I sure don't expect it to be in scale with Bowen's FS, but hopefully larger than Bowen's minis.

I was surprised at how well it turned out, worst thing, is the claws are painted to dark and I do not believe they are metal like we have come to expect from Wolvie statues, but it is nice.

Azog

Here you go, I posed him with Gambit from Bowen and Hal Jordan Lantern from DC Direct, I think the scale is very very close to Bowen, just depends on how well we want to call him runt. Also I noticed the CoA said Maximum production run of 2500, which leads to believe that 2500 may not get made.

Thanks for the pics!!! I think he looks to shiny. Also, making the skulls shiny is pretty dumb. Shiny skulls aren't every scary.

Looks like they went heavy on the gloss finish. That is one shiny statue.

Starvenger

Nice pics Azog. Is the statue really that glossy or is because of the flash? Also, how tall is the statue? Good to see the arms don't look as green as in the promo pics.

I think i`ll pick this up but the skulls have to go.
It looks easy enough to paint and shape the skulls so it looks like a ridge on a mountain top.

Well my pics have the flash turned off, so yes its glossy, but you should see it in person, I think if the gloss is off too much for you, its one worth a repaint cause it is a great pose...

Who else besides Thanos?

I actually like that pic next to Gambit. Makes the scale look right. Still could be way better. That's a nice pose and size though for Bowen to make to fit in line with the rest of the X men. Not on some rock to make a requirement.

I like the skull base with some of the evil characters, but it makes Wolverine look like a serial killer. Did Wolverine kill all those people just to stand proudly on top of his skull collection? It looks that way to me.

I agree 100% with carillj. I konw wolvie can kill without remorse, but he doesn't keep the skulls of his victimes.

Yep, I did the paint master for this version of Wolvering. The skulls I did were a little different, but that's the factory's interpretation I suppose.

Rick did a great job on the sculpt though! Anatomy was tight!

Just saw this one too in person and its AWESOME. I wasnt excited one bit about this but I think I have to get it now. Not shiny one bit and really looks good, even with the cliche skull base. Love that its close in scale with Bowen, might be the perfect filler until Randy finally does a standing pose.

Yes a REALLY nice job.

My only negative, the claws look too long. If they were to retract he would never bend his wrist. Or if they went past he wrist it they would stick out of his elbow.

Could, just be the angles of the camera.

Looks like great detail.

Hey! Wolverine on skulls statue is really not bad! thought the painting is quite different from its main prototype. The face of Wolverine is not as great as its prototype but the rest are nice. I really love the claws....some kinda titanium colour to cater that supreme effect! And when u touvh the claws they make u feel like its real metal! i rate it 8/10! Best wolverine statue so far.....better than Bowen designs too! Siorry Bowen...but...its really nice.

I am somewhat new to the forum, and usually just read the posts on it, and usually the people here seem very helpful. I just got this statue in today and it is indeed spectacular. Mine did not look as glossy as the pics that were posted, but I was wondering does anyone know what it means when the number on the statue is number 0, because that is what I got. It's #0 on the box and certificate. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

elocon,
first may i say welcome to the forums.

Now as for number 0. I've never seen a 0 before so this is a new one for me.

Can you take a picture of this 0 and post it. would love to see this for sure.
thanks

Just saw this at the LCS today, I gotta say, it's a sweet sculpt. Though the skulls do throw it off. I wish they used a different kind of base. It's a solid piece though.

Thanks for the comments on the sculpt, everyone.
It was a fun piece to work on, being a big fan of the Jim Lee Wolvie (And Wolvie in general). It's nice to see the actual finished piece. Hadn't seen it until reading this post! Maybe I could acquire one someday.....
I originally did this piece for Dynamic, then they were no longer doing Marvel stuff, so then it was released by Diamond. That's pretty much it's history
(For those who might be interested...LOL). I agree, in the initial posted pics he looks VERY shiny (yikes), but in the later ones he was OK. Always interesting to see your sculpture come "full-circle", as it were... Just glad to see it got produced! Mr.Cantu did a very nice job on the paintmaster (Thanks for the kind words, man! And those pics.)!
And also, he does have those tree-trunk arms, and beefy fists ( They don't look quite like that in person)! But that's how Jim drew him in that litho, as well as the skulls.... Which probably wasn't the greatest base concept. But, you work with the reference, so.... Also (the FINAL also, I promise) I DID sculpt an unmasked head, which I liked (included a few pics of the near- complete headsculpt), but Marvel or someone wanted to do the mask version. Dunno why, but.... I thought I captured the Lee style well. But, whatareyagonnado?
Anyway....... Thanks very much for the kind words! Glad ya like it.
By the way- He's actually 1/8 scale, whereas Bowen's pieces are 1/7. Pretty close, though.

Best, Rick Force :buttrock:
