this year is my first time ever going to NYCC. I know all the fuzz about SDCC with sideshow collectibles n stuff. Would we see the same thing here in NYCC?

whats to see there, besides cosplay n gaming stuff?

Gonna be good.

My advice? Which I learned from a meager 20 or so years going to cons - never spend your money at the first booth you come to. Unless it's like a serious grail. there may be better deals inside

And always show up sunday. As the show starts to end vendors are trying to make as many deals as possible so that they don't have to carry stuff back to their stores.

And always negotiate! Always offer less than what they are asking! NEVER take sticker value...they may say NO, and it may actually be reasonable to say no (from their perspective) but it never hurts to try and haggle...

Agreed!

As a commission newbie of sorts, I appreciate this advice.

If you see any Planet Hulk pages by Carlo Pagulayan or Aaron Lopresti, those have already been reserved for a Mr. Ghey; no reason for you to stop and inquire about them.

Oh... feel free to let me know what pages they are once you return, via a pm, so I can congratulate Mr. Ghey on his purchases.

you have to try the moonshine down here sometime. it ROCKS! right now we have blueberry, strawberry, peach, regular peel paint and my personal favorite apple pie. Ask Drew how smooth that stuff is.
