Figured i would give you guys who are going to NYCC, that there is a booth with a guy who is selling a reg ryu.

He is at a booth that the ryu is on top of the rack and is out of the box. I dont remember exactly where he is, but someone is selling him. I didnt ask how much either since i was just roaming first night.

It is bud. Normally sold by at least 1500 usd on ebay auctions.

Do or do not

Plus, picking it up in person gives you the option to inspect it.

That sux I was going to go to that Con too but I have to go to a wedding this weekend! :( I probably would have bought him to complete my collection if he was the right price.

I never buy statues at cons, they are usuually marked up higher than average cost on ebay. You may get lucky with older unpopular ones though.

Nah lots of the ones they got for sale are ebay prices or less. Just the problem is they dont have a lot of popular ones or sale.

What the hell.. what a weird thing to say.. "I will not accept anything above $2,000". The easy thing would have been to say "at least $1, 600".

Honestly if you could pick it up in person, save on delivery cost, inspect it, then I can see forking out that amount as 'reasonable' (in context of what it is - 1 of the infamous PCS line).. and, hell, bargian him down $100 to make it a nice even figure (by means of a 'cash deal'), so you feel good about your purchase - and we're good :)

I thought he said he didn't want more than $2,000, which i found odd

Not into the grammar bs on forums, it's not an essay.

Didn't realise you meant he wanted betwen 1600-2000 :D

Well at least you found out what he was selling it for,

What is it with theses dumbasses and their eBay pricing at the con? Folks are already spending money just to attend and are probably looking for some decent deals.

I swear, that is exactly my point!

Especially when it is being displayed next to so many cr@ppy vinyl toys!?

1600,...2000 pricing needs a better and more serious display than that of being on top of or adjacent to BIG BIRD!!,,lmao,,where do these ppl come from, lol!

:hilarious: Why he display next to cheap vinyl toys? $1600 is way over price.

im waiting for better ryu, this is not the best ryu yet from jerry.

Ditto as GG I think that 1600$ is too much for him, but if you can inspect him and see that he's in mint condition and the box too, with a discount you can maybe make a great deal :thumbs2:

The price changes depending on what you look like, Do you look like you have some money? :hilarious: The truth is there is alot of people that do that, Size you up before telling you how much it is. If he cant put a price tag on it for all to see, I wouldnt buy nothing from him.

Who knows? I smirked and walked away.
There were Great deals at the show though. I picked up a few great pieces REALLY cheap!

I mean if someone will pay $1200 for the thing why not go $400.00 more? Obviously it doesn't matter once you past the $600.00 mark for any statue that costs $300.00. Just my opinion though.

Vince-Vell

Cant blame the guy for trying, just to get a table at NYCC is prob no less then 5k for the weekend, prob more.

Got to make some kind of a profit to do the show.

Prices are set on what people will pay, if people will pay that much then why wouldn't you sell it for that? The guy wants to make money. Oh and I've been offered £1k for mine (about $1.6k) which I turned down at the time, and that was a straight up offer with no bartering

It's what they're willing to pay on eBay. Don't see how eBay prices do well at Comicons, especially when folks are already paying to be to there.

I mean if he hasn't sold it on eBay by now (where there is global visibility), what makes him thing he'll get that much at a Con? I was there and I couldn't find the damn thing.

Vince-Vell
10-17-2011, 01:23 PM
Not at out of the norm vendors bring tons of junk to unload at the con and a few rare expensive items too.

People go to the con to get anything they can wether it be expensive or cheap that they normal can't get or find.

Hell look at NYCC 3 years ago, they had a chrome silver surfer bowen selling for $2100 or so. From what i herd he did sell it around the 1500 mark i think.

i bet he prob did sell it on sunday for a cheaper amount if no one was willing to pay the 1600. if he had to make some cash back from the show like more vendors, prices got slashed big time.

I would have kept it too. I hate I missed out on it so much though. The way you have him posed in your avatar makes me wish I had disposable income to just throw at it. Ryu's custom statue gives it a run for its money as far as looks go but both are equally awesome.
