I can't find this. We're talking about Sonofabid, right? I looked under statue section, under DC Direct (only DC category that I could find). ???

....back from viewing after CK's kind re-direction...
...Looks great, I like the look. But "vinyl"? I'm not sure about that. That sounds rather, "plastic-y." And no base, I presume?

Don't be fooled by the vinyl descript. The Koto stuff is awesome IMO. Probably won't appreciate in value like resin, but looks fantastic on display. Compare that sculpt to the Jim Lee DC direct one.

There is no comparison I own the jim lee one and it`s ok but the chin is off and the arm looks stiff and rigid(no jokes people) and his chest is huge.
This will be added to my collection looks very nice.

Yeah, I dont like the Jim Lee pieces at all. First and foremost, too small. Secondly, too cartoony looking. I dont care at all for statues made to copy a certain artist's style....not in the least (wouldn't keep one even it were a gift).
But to me "vinyl" sounds like they melted down a bunch of PVC pipe into a vat and then poured that into a bunch of molds. And again, I don't like the idea of there being no base. With all this in mind, this seems more like a $19.95 piece (which is probably 10x what it cost to make in China).

:buttrock: DC moved this up 2 months for a release. Instead of November its September 21. GREAT statue! :buttrock:

this looks awesome. i think if should have a base though.
It has a black oval base ,but would indeed look nicer with some gotham architecture beneath his feet.

I have it already here in asia..and believe me it blows every batman statue away in terms of sculpt...my only complain is you can see a joint between his shoulder and left arm..It's not so noticable..but i've seen it and i know its there...I'm sure anyone who gets it will be very very satisfied with it..=)

I got this one last week and I am really impressed. It is the best Bats statue I have seen, and although I have only see the Bowen and Paquet clocktower Bats in pics, and own the DC Jim Lee versions, this is definitely the best despite the vinyl material.
The sculpt, muscle definition, the face, the cowl is so much more comic accurate than the tim bruckner sculpt. Tim is a great sculptor, but I just feel his chin on the DC statue is just too big, and looks unrealistic. And the paint wash on this koto piece is just magnificent, battle damaged but yet the costume colors are so much more accurate as compared to the DC one.
No doubt, if you are a Bats fan, this is the one to get. If you are a Jim Lee Bats, you cannot pass at all! I am just impressed with Koto for putting a far superior statue than DC and at half the price.

Awesome and great looking piece. :buttrock:
I've had mine for a week or so, and it is a GREAT statue/figure, especially for the price.
All the other Batman statues I've seen are out of proportion in some way, but the Koto
is absolutely 100% perfect (to me) for what Batman should realistically look like.

I think we over here in Asia get a better price coz we dont go thru diamond. But you are right, some of the other Bats looks out of proportion, even the Bowen one, but could be just me.
And I also have the cold cast Batman on Gargoyle by Kotobukiya. Sculpted by Keiji Iwakura who does all the steroids bats for them. Though small, the detail is fantastic and is really up there with the Jim Lee koto bats statue.

That actually looks pretty nice...
let down for me the base looked cheap, and pricie for vinyl imo.

I agree, the pose is amazing, but I just wish it wasn't vinyl. It was the statue that got me into the whole DC, Marvel, etc. lines. I used to be strictly LOTR & SW.

It would be nice if it was resin but it doesn`t matter to me that it`s vinyl.
I also like how it just has a simple black oval base so nothing is taken away from the statue I hope koto makes many more of these vinyl or not i`ll buy them. :buttrock:

Actually I can't stand that base. It's just to cheapy and flimsy imo. I display mine without the base. I'll certainly buy another vinyl statue from them, though, if they continue to produce such dynamic poses like the Batman.

I just got my Koto Batman yesterday. It is an AWESOME sculpt, though a little weird since it is vinyl. I thought it would be rigid live pvc pipe but his cape is very flexible.
The problem is, the paint on the back of his cape is scraped off in several places (one is over an inch long and about 1/8th inch wide. There were tiedown holes for both of his feet but only the left was actually tied down so he probably moved around a lot during shipment.
I can't find any customer support contact information on the DC Direct website.
1) Does anybody else have paint problems on their Koto Batman.
2) Does anybody have contact information for Customer Support at DC Direct?
Also, the vinyl statue shows a LOT of seams. Not used to those with all my cold cast porcelain statues.
