I'm jazzed for this one. Hopefully they'll show it at Comic-Con. I'll find out what I can about when I'm there and post it here.

Wow I didn't know about this, as I don't really stick with MR, but a 1:1 helmet of the Rocketeer would rock! I've always wanted to find a jacket like his. Always been a big fan of the aviator threads of back in the day.

actually, i knew about this one. it looks great but i think i'll wait/hope for an MR version. i just feel if i'm not 100% satisfied then i'm SOL because these are custom made.

btw, i believe MR is producing a rocketeer statue by this guy.

I agree...she used to be so hot. I liked her so much better when she had those great breasts. WHY did she reduce those puppies??!?!?!?!?!?

Yes, Howard is a great guy. I also know him and hooked him up with some DVDs...

Kent Melton did the sculpt of the original helmet for the movie. He did it, and was uncredited because he wasn't affiliated with the propmaster's guild or something.

Its better but...
The finish and attention to the detailing on the weld are much better but the sides ae still squeezed in. From a front view, you should be able to see the side panelling. While MR did better, they did not address one of the chief complaints onthe helmet concerning the dimensions. A great deisplay piece but unfortunately it looks to be about all it can be.

i just want to see if there's a difference. i bought mine direct from MR so i would think it's from the latest "batch". it'd be interesting to see if yours had the wider look.

Nice pics folks, looks great! But how MR, a "replica" company that is suposed to "research" about it's products didn't notice that it was supposed to be a little wider?

looks good Fred! nice finish on it. looks like the "squeeze" issue wasn't addressed but it's still a really nice helmet.

I never noticed the issue regarding the sides, but at first glance, it's definitely a Rocketeer helmet. Love the weathered finish and quality of this product, so I'm one happy customer. I waited a year and a half for this. It's finally in my hands.

Kent Melton did the Rocketeer statue as well as a number of disney classic statues.
