But the Maul, I'm gonna pass on for 2 reasons.
1 I'm not impressed with it really (which would have ruled over #2)
2 I'm not buying any of the ep 1, 2, 3 pieces.

I am way disappointed in the maul :banghead: . It reminded me of the vader statue when I first saw it, his cape is flowing all to one side too. The expression on his face is bad to, he looks scared or something, he SHOULD look P*ssed off and ready to open up a can on someone!

Both statues look awsome... but I am not too happy about the base for Darth Maul... or for the Vader statue... You would think they would come up with something more creative than just a black base... Still an awsome statue... think I might have to pick up the Vader and Chewwie now...

About the Maul expression. Picture isn't that good so it's way to early to pass a final judgement. What you can tell from the picture that he doesn't have a scowl which I agree is retarded.

I think this is a prototype. But i am happy with the GG DV. I'm sure this will be alright when shipped. I prefer the pose of the Koto one though.

The Luke on Taun-Taun looks quite good. Empire is a favorite and that will be quite tempting.

As for Maul, I agree with Worktroop... the Koto version nails the character. If I had to choose between the two, I'd go with the Koto version without hesitation. I think the Gentle Giant version does have its own merits however. I do like standing, museum styled poses and I'm sure it will be a quality sculpture. boony, I'm with you where the bases are concerned. The simple base doesn't detract from the figure itself, and looks classy. It really works well with characters that aren't in action poses.

Some don't like the Maul ,but I do. I think the pose is fine, if I had one complaint so far is that I wish he had more of a scowl on his face. You never know though this is a prototype so they might make some changes. I like the KOTO stuff, but I can't bring myself to pay around a$100 for a vinyl statue, I rather pay a couple more bucks for the GG stuff.

Not crazy about the Maul. Personally I like the pose on the Koto one much better, and the sculpt might even be nicer. However will conceivably pick up if it's under $200. They should have made a mini first. Luke on Taun Taun looks really cool. Will probably get the line, and ultimately go back and get the Dewback. Problem is cost and space. Too much stuff.
