I just read this on another forum (RPF).

"Millennium Falcon Studio Replica will also be made available as a Signature Edition, signed by Harrison Ford himself. The price for this item has not yet been set."

Guess on this one, $2k maybe? Can't believe Ford would agree to this, thought he kept pretty distant from the trilogy.

He hasn't had a hit in years and needs a paycheck until Indiana IV gets going.

this is also being made. quoting from an RPF thread..

"Darth Maul Force FX lightsaber, it is 1-bladed and will have a separate adapter so that if you buy 2, you can put together Maul's entire double-bladed saber in Force FX form with a massive 8-foot span."

I've been waiting for that for a while now. It's going to be spectacular.

Or maybe not...

From the MR blog:

While we're very pleased to be announcing the next ship in line for our Studio Scale series, the Millenium Falcon, some websites have reported that this will be a "Signature Edition" model. While we'd love for this to be true, at the current time, there are no such plans - but stay tuned to the blog for more information as it becomes available!

In this case, it's the quality of the piece that really matters. Not a signature. This will be awesome regardless. :buttrock:

P1...have you played w/ their Snowspeeder? I haven't seen it or the AT-AT personally, so I have little to referrence in "real life"...
I'm familiar w/ Code3 and as a original trilogy guy I was happy w/ that quality, I know it aint perfect, but it's light years from was offered in the 70s and 80s...
I'd like to take a look at a Snowspeeder, and that will have to determine whether I re-finance for the MF....

I'd like to hear your opinions on the SS esp. in comparison to the Code3s...

Thanks

hey IZZ, i have the snowspeeder and AT-AT v1 (v2 on the way). they're both greatly detailed pieces. MR's quality over Code3 is significant (IMO). Code3 makes very cool models but compared to what MR is producing.. it's a whole different league. :)

in addition to the falcon i hear there's a Y-Wing also. oh man, don't forget the Indy props!! [faints]

I wonder if these will be better than the Code3 ones....

that depends on your taste
code 3 as im sure you know is a much smaller scale and diecast (some have even said they are off in apperance)

were these MR versions are 1:1 of the actual movie props and made of vinyl or something lighter. they are dead on from what ive seen so far.

They should be for the price.

They should be for the price.

although the MSRP of their products are high, if you look around you can find many of their new items for $50 to $200 below retail. I have yet to pay over retail. of course many of the older items have increased in value over the years.

Well let me know if you see this one for $200, and not the $2000, they will
probably be asking for it. And I'll be laughing, this is why I'm keeping my code 3 Falcon, it might not look as realistic in appearance.
But you pay for what you get.

ill keep my eyes open wen they come out, hopefully score one for $875 if the MSRP is $100 like the AT-AT

For the MR millenium falcon,

do we get the 32 inch studio version or the 5 feet one??

There seems to be two versions according to this site.

The reason I am asking is to decide if I should buy this to build:

The MR SS is based on the 32 inch diameter model.

For a glimpse at what the MR version will be like, take a look at what this guy at RPF did with his. The crazy part? He built it in 4 weeks !!

Nice!!

I am getting one for sure then.

Can't wait for the Y Wing... or hopefully the X-Wing.. in the same scale.

Then.. I can make the "A New Hope" survivers diorama:

2 X-Wings (Luke+Wedge), Y Wing and the Falcon. :buttrock:

I really hope MR Falcon can out do this. This is only $200 bucks and has all those awesome figures.

I'm sure it will. That's pretty cool, but it doesn't look anything like the original prop, IMO. The bottom isn't detailed at all and the colors on the top are wrong.

You're definitely comparing apples to oranges when discussing a $2,500 or so replica to a $200 one.

I've changed my mind I'm getting rid of my Code 3 one. And i'm getting this one that is if i'ts 32 inch long.

I wonder if they are going to have PT ships? Not that I am interested, but just curious: there was only CGI models and 1/1 if I am not mistaken?

You are correct, there are only CGI and 1:1 models. I wonder if ILM made any sample physical models that the computer artists could base their CGI models on? That would be a cool prop.

A Studio Scale Jedi Starfighter from Ep. II would be awesome if it ever existed in model form at ILM.
