I think it was the year before last that SS anounced that they would be making products from T1. This came as music to my ears. I already had the T2 PF and while that was a great statue it was not really The Terminator to me. To me The Terminator will always be Arnold as the unstopable killing machine not the "getting in touch with his feelings" cyborg he ended up becoming.
When the T1 was announced the T2 was sold off. Then came the product photos from SS and I thought that I may have sold the T2 to soon. I mean it just did not look that much like Arnold. Then the SDCC photos appeared and I began to feel better. Then the in hand photos came in and I knew everything was going to be OK. Now that I have this I can say that this is IMO THE Arnold Terminator product to own.
Face sculpt - 5 out of 5 - Trevor does yet another fantastic job. Both the reg head and the Ex head look fantastic. There is no doubt that this is Arnold as The Terminator. This would be a hard sculpt to get right IMO as he is missing eyebrows and has a hairline that has been partly burned off. Yet Trevor nailed it. One of the best sculpts out there.
Paint - 4.5 out of 5 - For the most part this is another great area. My only issue is that many out there seem to be getting paint jobs with liver spots on the face. Mine did not have that issue but the face on the regular edition is a tad to dark. The 5 o'clock shadow is a tad to dark also. I probably would not notice it but when I put both heads next to each other the EX head looks more like arnold and I think it;s because of the lighter paint apps.
Body Sculpt - 5 out of 5 / Pose - 5 out of 5 - Total 5 out of 5 - The body sculpt is dead on for this piece as it is proportioned perfectly. The Pose is perfect IMO. I have read some complaints but I feel this pose gives the satue a life like flow. The arm pose is perfect also with one hand firing a gun and the other resting a gun on his shoulder. This is ripped right from the movie. Very Iconic!!!!
Clothes - 5 out of 5 - All areas are perfect. The leather Jacket looks great. The shirt has the correct patterns, the glasses look fantastic, the pants look properly worn. The boots are sculpted and look excellent also. No issues at all here.
Weapons - 5 out of 5 - Two guns that help give the piece that perfect presence. I really like the 12 gauge autoloader.
Base - 4 out of 5 - All is fine here but I wish the shells lying on the floor were individaully sculpted and glued on. Instead they seem to be part of the floor mold and look a little blob like. You can still tell what they are they just don't look real.
Extras for the EX - 5 out of 5 - An ectra head that shows off the Endo eye. Some have complained that the endo eye is looking in the wrong direction. I say it looks fine and represents the state of FX at the time. I love the Ex head and will be displaying it for a change of pace from time to time.
Lasting appeal - 5 out of 5 - If you love The Terminator then there is no reason to think you will ever get tired of this piece. Just great.
Overall - 5 out of 5 - One of the best PFs SS has ever produced. This thing just oozes cool. From the sculpt to the clothing to the pose everything on this is just about perfect and only the most picky of collectors would find something to complain about and keep themselves from picking this up. Great Job!!!!
