in talks to purchase a vega, the one im looking at has some sweet custom claws its a regular. from the pics i feel there is a leaning issue with the statue almost looks like its falling over? was this a big problem and can it be fixed?

with regards to this piece leaning issue, or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

for some there was a leaning issue. i believe the solution is to use a hot dryer and slowly lean it back the other way. however i don't have the lean issue so you may want additional input before doing anything. from the angle you took the picture, there does look like there is a slight lean.

This happened to some Vegas, Mine included. Something to do with the kind of resin used I think but its easy to fix. Push pants up a bit more over calfs and take a hair dryer and start blasting all around the ankles were the shoes meets the ankles. It will start to soften a bit and allow you to gently push the statue straight up. You may have to prop something under the base to let it lean at an angle while it cools but keep an eye so it doesnt lean too much in the opposite direction. Let sit for a good time and there you are a nice straight Vega.

Be careful not to knock the claws though or they will break.

Yup that Vega looks like it has a lean...gotta be careful using the hair dryer around his knees...but it can be fixed, just depends how bad the lean is

Yip speaking from experience the advice John and others have given is spot on and if you bend him back to slightly over straight he will then settle perfect and mine has not moved at all since :)

This one doesn't have a little lean its a BIG one so you should get a decent discount on that. My other advise would be to get the seller to carefully pack the heads as the ponytail (and claw) is particularly prone to shipping damage on this statue

Good luck picking him up he is a cool piece !

thanks again well the claws have been replaced with steel ones which is cool and the hair was broken but repaired... how much would you pay for it?

All common the claws would have broken and the owner repaired them and if you find one with no broken/repaired ponytail its a rarity.

Value well that's in the eye of the buyer if I wanted it for my collection then I would pay what I needed to in order to get it :)
