What happenss sometimes is that the water reacts with the paint or the oils in the resin/porcelin react to the fish. I've heard a few horror stories to be careful.

It was only a joke. I'd never put the fish at risk:) But i'm sure someone will through him in the deepend.

All you have to do is put it in a waterproof case.

Action figure yes, statue yikes! No way. I won't set my statues in direct sunlight let alone put one in an aquarium.

I'm sure there is paint products out there to protect the sculpt. Maybe have one bronzed up.

Straight from the horses mouth. :)

The trident on ours is not shown complete (it's missing the fin aspects). The base is not shown complete as well.

In fact there are masses of coral and sea life not shown either. The classic version will have a Coelocanthe (my favorite living fossil), and a (4-eyed) mutant fish. The base was actually designed with fish tanks in mind. That's why there are spaces between the coral outcroppings.Although I can't guarantee that it will be 'tank safe'. However I have looked at fishtank decor pieces, and they appear to be finished with the same types of paints.

The black version will have a hammerhead shark and other different fishes.
This is going to be interesting- because ours was scheduled to ship in February as well. Although now- we're pushing for a January release.

I've let her go up to 2 days without grub and when I throw some in she attacks it! Its been 2 days since I fed her last already... I think today I may stop at the pet shop and get her some guppies instead of giving her sticks... :buttrock: Maybe I'll record it for you guys to check out! :eplus2:

Well at the prices aquarium centerpieces cost you might as well put a statue in there.... :DI've paid twice as much for some of my corals than I have for some of my statues.

Personally, I wouldn't risk putting a statue in a reef tank .. JMHO.

I was thinking the same thing. Or at least give the illusion he is submersed in there, but have him protected in an outer "shell" like casing. Would look ver kewl. I'm interested in seeing both versions next to each other.

This could be a whole new line. Howard the Duck to keep your canary company. A nodding Lockjaw for your car. The possibilities are endless.

I dont have a reef tank... only a freshwater... so the fish should adapt to it a lot easier! :buttrock: I think I am going to buy one for my tank! :eplus2:

I would and will, if anything he will be incased in a waterproof case, although I want my fish to swim around him without any separation.

I pretty much said this in posts #2 and#5.
All you have to do is get an acrylic box and seal it with clear silicone caulk.Confessor should be able to help you get the good stuff.

The problem with sealing it would be that it has air trapped in it so it would float.

not if it`s anchored or has a weight on it.

thats true... but that would be a lot of extra weight for a tank... but they are made for that and water is not lite anyway... I think each Gallon of water = 8lbs....

You guys think there would'nt be a reflection issue with having a box within a box? I am no fish tank expert but it would be like putting your watch under water, from an angle you can't see the face.

Yup, jdh. Great idea! The Human Torch (the FS, not the mini) would be great attached to the barbeque grill, and in tribute to the Dolph Lungren "Punisher" movie, the FS Punisher should go on the cistern in any toilet--his facial expression is most appropriate.

But seriously, the Marvel Legends Namor would work in a fishtank. Action figures in fishtanks rock. My Total Justic Aquaman action figure was doing aquarium duty for the longest time back then.
