.. but for $199.00?
I'm thinking that these companies will start before long, pricing their pieces out of collector's reach.

Yeah, the price is pretty high, but I'm sure you'll be able to find a seller on Ebay that will offer it for lower. I'll probably pick it up just cause I love that cover. It will look nicely next to my Days of Future's Past Diorama.
Strange, I guess diamond a medium scale diorama and a full scale X-Men dio....
The hamilton action: mini statues are very nice...

I love this piece and will definitely buy it.
Do we know how large it is (ie is it in scale with the Silver Age pieces)?

When is it supposed to come out?
The price is a little steep...

I'm getting this for sure. Is it listed in the new Previews this month? I think the display in San Diego stated it would be a December 2005 release.

It this a FS 1/8th scale or medium scale like the Modern Era series?

It would be nice if they offered Marvel Girl as a stand alone statue. I think it would look better without Cyclops.
Yes Marvel Girl sculpted by Clay Moore would rock...

Azog who sculpted this piece? What scale are they?

What scale are they? It's being released under the Marvel Milestones banner unless I'm mistaken. I don't know if it will be in scale with the rest of them or not.
Where's DSTChuck when we need him? C'mon dude... we know you've been lurking out there. Give us the scoop! :D

If its MM scale then this could be huge.

If it is in 1/8 scale it is a definite. If it's smaller, then it's an ebay purchase. $199 is too high for a 1/10 or smaller scale diorama IMO.

But then it wouldn't really recreate this cover:

My thoughts exactly. What would be kinda cool is to scan in the cover and turn it into a laminated card that could display beside or behind the piece.

Its in scale with and part of the Marvel Milestones lines. Yup its HUGE, I am sure some of you saw it in SD. The paint on display in SD was not final the final paint will be more like the cover.

Who sculpted this? I know the Days of Future Past diorama was done by the Kucharak Brothers. And how big is this compared to the Days of Future Past diorama?? I hope it's similar cause I want to display them together.

It's a great looking piece anyway - but at that size, it's a bargain too. I can't remember ever being this jazzed about upcoming DS releases. There are some awesome projects coming our way.

What do you mean NOPE. DST's Marvel Milestone's line has been putting out some sweet stuff. I was a big fan of the Dark Phoenix story and I'm getting that piece.

I like the piece...looks great (especially that pic Miami posted next to the cover it's based on).
What I don't like is the price. I'll wait and see if I can get this for cheaper later on.

who sculpted this piece? The listing in the latest Previews credits it to Art Asylum. The new Cap bust is their work also.

Hopefully you guys are right and that the paint job is done better. Right now it looks kind of washed out.
As for when its coming out...2 people on ebay have it for preorder. One says it will be out in 30 days or you get a refund. The other says that it is out in Oct. I was going to preorder, but I read the preorder fraud thread on the bowen forum, and I'm being really cautious. what to do, what to do... :confused2

Thanks cyberpunk...I was going to preorder from one of them. :)

It is rather common for the 30 days notice to be indicated. This does not mean that the pre-sell item is expected within that period. I've gotten fooled by this before but there is nothing shady about it.

I'd like to see it in person before i'd pass judgement. The sculpts from DST are improving. But i think the paintwork needs more work.

This may be a big seller for DST. A lot of collectors have wanted this cover done. Glad the colors are being adjusted and I hope good care is taken to keep the quality high. It's a must of my list. Chuck, who is (are) the sculptors ??
Bartholomew

Acrylic paint, where did you read that the colors will be adjusted. I hope so since they seem a little muted. It doesn't make the sculpt pop. And the face sculpts could have been a little better.

Check post #23. I agree that DST should pull all the stops on this one. It could be a real milestone in their body of work.

Thanks Acrylicpaint. I wonder just what the dimensions are since all I have is a detolf to display it if I buy it.
I'd also like to know for sure when its coming out. The display said December, but there are people who have said it coming out in 30 days to Novemer, to all the way to Feb of next year. :confused2
