OK if this was supposed to be out in July-Aug and they are still taking orders (last week for doing so) then when do you think we can expect to see this? What another 2-3 months? The chronic lateness of this hobby is really getting annoying.

I think we should see this by the end of the year but, who knows. When stuff is late it gives you time to save up some dough to pay for it, that's the way I look at it. What's bad is when all the late stuff comes out at the same time.

Agreed!!! Sometimes the tardiness is a good thing.....and DEFINITELY a bad thing when all your orders hit at once!! (Insert voice of experience here..... :( )

What Sideshow pieces have you gotten this month? You mentioned a while back that your Shelob was shipping? My LCS hasn't gotten mine yet and I'm wondering if anyone has actually gotten this one yet.

I was wrong about Shelob, turns out I misread the invoice. I've had Boramir, Legolas (shipping today), Morgul Lord, and Gandalf the Grey (coming in another week) statues and the Escape off the Road plaque ALL come this month along with recently the Smegal bust, mini Samaritan and Nazi Korenen convention exclusives AND all of the Bowen busts. Man it's been painful!! I wasn't really expecting this much all in such a short span!

I'm accepting donations if anyone wants to help out! :D

I like it a lot! The relief sculpting is quite impressive in detail, I think. And the thing weighs a metric ton! I plan to get the other two plaques now. The only thing I don’t know yet is if it will stand well on a shelf or if you have to hang it. I don’t want to hang it, but I haven’t had room to stand it anywhere, yet. Oh well…

Sounds good, at some point I think I will add this one to my collection. I have the "You Shall Not Pass" plaque and I think it is awesome. You'll like it.

Having missed out on Balrog I, if it's got a Balrog in it, I'm buying it. If they come out with Balrog boxer shorts I'm getting a pair for each day of the week.

Hi. I was just wondering why The original Balrog statue sales for so much more than its retail price and if the same thing is expected to happen with this new Balrog.

Have you seen the Balrog?! No just kidding with you, the first was limited to 1000 pieces and is alot bigger than the new one. The new one was an open edition so who knows how many orders they got. I don't think the new one will reach the same heights in price.

I have to agree with Comicboy. The new one isn't going to come close to what the original is commanding. I'm hoping the new one knocks down the price on the original but I don't think it will have much impact if any. I think the new one is nice and I'm getting one but the first one is in a different league. The fire whip alone is awesome. I'd hoped for one on the second one but I can understand why they didn't do it. Someday that first one will be mine!!!!!!!

What! I actually ordered two of the new one with the intention of selling one on ebay. And when I ordered it the ad said it would be limited to 1000 pieces! I think I might change my order now. Thanks guys. By the way, I just recieved a morgul lord and it looks great! I just can't figure out why they're selling on ebay for below the retail price. Does anybody understand that?

Pieces are usually cheaper when they first come out and retailers have many to sell. Once they start getting into the hands of private collectors, the supply will shrink and prices will rise. It's basic economics...

there are 9500 morgul lords out there.. so it will be a while before the prices will go up...

one thing is for sure, i have yet to buy a sideshow product that i have been stuck with. any you can see i buy pretty much everything. eventually i get my money and then some. those of you who bought extras, just be patient. it'll pay off. talk to your dealer and make sure you don't get it at retail and then you'll have a little breathing room.

The ad was clearly wrong. The first one was limited to 1000. The second one was an open edition with the limit size determined by the number of orders placed at the time they decided to close it. I'll guess that it comes in close to 10,000

I agree with drod, just hang on to the extra one, you may have to wait a while but it will pay off in the end. That's one gorgeous piece!

Did they already announce the size of the new Balrog? The last time I looked it said TBA.

Nope, no info on edition size yet. They should release it soon, they stopped taking orders. So they should just have to count up the orders. Unless, maybe since they said it was an open edition they won't number them or release the run size. I don't really know.
