To anyone who has this bust, can you post a close up of her face. I got mine, and the hair on the side of her face looks weird, and I was wondering if other people's were like that or it was just mine. THanks.

The problem with mine is there is a crack/small hole where one of the hair strands is, on both sides. And the hair line doesn't go all the way up to her head. I wanted pictures to compare, and I am in the process of talking to the ebay guy to see if anything can be done about it. My first bust and it turns out like this...sigh :(
Daredevil, you can try Ebay. From what I understand, I think Diamond has sold out of these.

Could you post pictures and we can comment. I looked at mine, and while I'm having a hard time visualizing what you're trying to describe,I don't see any problems. The paint along the hair line could have been better. YOu mention cracks or holes--the bust has two hair strands that look likr they were glued on and come away from the face at points is this where the problem is?

I saw this piece at my LCS today, and I gotta tell ya, I was VERY impressed! They got the Byrne style to it dead on! I might just pick it up.

Yep...where they connect to the head, you can see 2 small holes where there is no resin at all. And there is no paint on for the hairline whatsoever. It looks weird. Other than that she is beautiful. I will try and get the pic up.

Saw this in person at an lcs (not rcvd mine yet, but thanks nbr for picking one up for me) and i gotta say this is outstanding. One of the best female busts I have ever seen, bowen included.

This is a gorgeous piece and Sam Greenwell can walk tall... He's a sculptor that quietly turns out some of the best work in the hobby.

Just got mine 397 / 1000 in (15 minutes ago) and it does NOT have the problem you describe. Sorry but it sounds like you got a bad one. Shouldn't be too difficult to fix. Mine is almost exactly the same, but painted (rather roughly actually) to bring the hair extention up to the hair line.
Great bust. I way overpaid but really did not want to miss out on this one. Those early Byrne-Clairemont X-Men were where I discovered what a well done comic really was.

Bartholomew,
as far as the resin goes mine looks about the same except the hair add-on resin was smooshed up closer to the hairline and there is paint in the gap. Sorry, dude looks like yours is a bit below standard. Looks like an easy fix though.
Out of curiosity what number is yours? I know people seem to put a premium on low numbers, but if the number reflects actual production order(?) later might be better in that the hands doing the work might become more skillful as they progress.

Mine has no gloss on her lips at all. Is this normal for a convention piece to be so varied in terms of quality of production? Was this rushed?

That's kewl that it fits the same Bowen scale. I'll pick one up this weekend at the WWC. I didn't see Colossus on the Wizard's Exclusive page so I might have to hunt him down there in the dealers.

Well I know they'll have the Black Queen bust there, so I'll pick her up, but I also wanted Rocco's Chrome/painted Colossus that they had at the WWLA. But there's no word on that if they'll have him there.

Didn't they say they sold out of the Black Queen bust. Since its only limited to 1000, does that mean they are making more for the Wizard World Chicago?

I doubt it... THey probably sold 500 at sdcc and 500 will be for WWChi.

The bust I recieved was already number 870. I think they were issuing them out in some sort of numerical order, which they most likely are into the 900's already. Or is it 1000 per convention? lol. how confusing.

I doubt they were releasing in any order... they probably just grabbed the 1st 500 pieces and shipped them to sell them... You think they care about numbers? All they care about is sales!

I must be the only one that wasn't that impressed with this one. The paint looked less-than-steller on all the ones I saw out and displayed at SD. There was a strange blue/gray hue on parts of her skin in spots, and the hair and face paint job looked less than great. Was looking forward top getting this one but passed upon seeing it.

You just may be the one.
I think the sculpt is better than the paint and would have prefered if they found another way to do the locks of hair that come down alongside her face. For me, this buy was a no brainer, as it was a nice enough depiction of a classic storyline from my reading days.

I finally got mine today. My husband is busily drolling over her as I type. She's gorgeous! And luckily the hair looks fine. I was worried it might be a production flaw, but she's pretty spiffy (a bit of a "divet" but at least it's painted,) low #122 too. Here's pics at various angles.
