Not sure if this should be in the question thread, but thought it would be too long and might get lost amongst all the other questions.

Was wondering what the possibility was for Jerry to produce smaller scale versions of the 1/4 mixed media statues.

As the new sculpts like Sagat and Guile are being done digitally, Jerry could scale them down to a more collectable size.

Recently received my first 1/4 SF statue Guile yesterday. Don't get me wrong I am impressed with it but my main concerns are, he's very heavy and I don't have much space left to buy anymore of these 1/4 statues after Sagat. And I worry how heavy say E-Honda will be, esp for international shipping!!

I think it would make good commercial sense for the sculpts to also be available in a smaller scale and made in a different medium like say PVC or resin; in the same vein as many of the Japanese Manga figures, which have very high quality paint apps. Due to the fact that more people collect and are able to collect those size figures, where as there must be less than 1000 people in the world who collect 1/4 statues.

The digital sculpts would just need to have their clothes digitally added, or the 1/4 mixed media statues could be 3D scanned into a machine I'm guessing? Also Capcom approval no doubt.

Shapeways is a 3D printing company based in Europe, which I believe you just need to create a "digital artist" account, upload the digital model, specify what scale(s), and the company will do the rest for you. Lots of digital artists appear to use this, and I believe they receive royalties every time someone buys. A buyer, using Paypal can then select the sculpt, specify which material he would like it to be printed in, and then Shapeways will manufacture it and post if to you.

Here are some examples of their work:

From a cost perspective digital printing a SF resin statue would work best at say 1/12 scale, as it would probably cost between €50-80 depending on the character and printing material.

There could be a cheaper option at say 1/16 costing probably €30-40

They would be more like resin kits made in a different scale and medium so shouldn't compete with the 1/4 collection.

Just my thoughts, not trying to take away from the joy of collecting 1/4 statues. Just would like another option for collecting Jerry works of art in a smaller scale. 1/4 is a very niche market, and when you consider all the SF fans out there... 20+ million??

Thats interesting news, thanks for sharing!! Really like the head sculpt of that Ryu and just realised he's done amazing work with the X-MEN Kotobukiya statues.

The 1/4 scale is definitely growing on me now, the size gives its alot of presence, best viewed at eye line I think... very pumped for Sagat!!!
