Klassic MK is going to be my predominant line. The sculpt is great Jerry. I've been waiting for this kind of representation and you've really delivered. You've done Mortal Kombat justice. Really wrapped you of all people got the license man. A dream collectible line - in terms of property and wanting the klassic characters depicted the right way it is #1.

You will only have one chance as they sell out within the first 10 seconds typically. I would suggest timing that one important e-mail perfectly using the clock Jerry provides on the site and not thinking of sending multiples.

Of course it sucks, but this isn't a daily task. It's once every couple of months or so. I just don't see the big deal when the item is so rare. It's like waking up at 2 am for a chance to pay $280 for something that will be worth it's weight in gold in a short amount of time. Seems like a no brainer and a small sacrifice for the potential.

This rumor that the Sideshow EX will be Sub Zero is incorrect.

UMK3 Sub Zero will come but not right now. He will be a new sculpt.

Determining an EX is always a tricky thing, especially since we have no Klassic Mortal Kombat sales to base it on. We want to make it 'collectible' so the secondary market value increases, but we also want to give fans a chance to own it. I feel 99 pc is the right number.

As far as the time of pre-order. We spent a ton of time discussing what to do to make it easier on those who may have to wake up in the middle of the night to no avail.

Splitting it into two pre-orders is too confusing and then we have to try and guess how many pcs to allocate for each pre-order.

Sideshow has collectors all over the world and they seem to adapt. As was said, it really shouldnt be too difficult to set your alarm, send a few emails then go back to sleep. My dog wakes me up in the middle of the night all the time.

Having said that, we will continue to try and find a better method.

the only thing I don't like with this going back to bed afterwards are things like the Sagat AP where you had to resend an email after getting confirmation, and since we only see this after waking up again...

I don't think you can interpret it that way, because Jerry said Scorpion and Sub-Zero will be posable together. This means they have to resculpt the body - mirror it if you will.

Honestly flipping didn't seem that prevalent on the Black Chun Li, a few popped up on ebay from what I recall (even the #2) but overall it didn't seem that many. Also for the Sagat PCSC a large number of them were from this forum alone, I think at least half?

MK time is the same :P Some games start it at 100, and some fighting games have 60 or 80 or whatever (some you can choose, but default to something) second limits. I don't know about the later MKs but the early ones all started at 99.

This rumor that the Sideshow EX will be Sub Zero is incorrect.

UMK3 Sub Zero will come but not right now. He will be a new sculpt.

Determining an EX is always a tricky thing, especially since we have no Klassic Mortal Kombat sales to base it on. We want to make it 'collectible' so the secondary market value increases, but we also want to give fans a chance to own it. I feel 99 pc is the right number.


This does not make sense. Considering that you're already making two separate characters already and all you had to do was sculpt a different head and arms. Why not just knock out masked Sub Zero too? Again, all you would need to do is sculpt two different arms and a head or maybe not even a new head if it's all just paint differences in the eyes.

You could knock out three characters in one trip to the factory with the current mold.

You should have done Sub Zero as the regular with no switch out pieces, Scorpion as the SS exclusive with a plain skull switch out head, and Reptile as the PCSC exclusive as it is now. Three classic characters done and the only difference would be the arms, paint, and two switch out heads for the exclusive characters.

Unmasked Sub Zero could be later on down the line since he is a completely different character with a completely different costume.

I have to agree. Was planning to start collecting this line because the Klassics rule (better than the MK9's IMO). But hate to see an iconic MK character like Reptile be missing in my collection because there will be 99 only and that it is only available via the weird route.

Keeping edition sizes low keeps products in demand for following releases, this is going to be the first release in the classic line so it would make no sense to make 200 and then have it not sell out. Since this is a PCSC exclusive the edition sizes of all statues are going to be low.

99 is very low, but it's PCS's call so be it. I wouldnt mind an edition size of 200/300/400 or whatever. These days it's about 'look what I have and you don't because you can't order it anymore'.

I collect because the pieces I have are of nostalgic value, it reminds me of those great games I used to play.

Nowadays it's getting pretty hard to collect and follow a certain line because some pieces/characters are only available in very small editions and in this case only via a special route. It's nice that I can still pick up a M.Bison at retail.

Anyway I still want to collect this line, because PCS's MK Klassic statues look great and the best to date. But if I don't 'win' the chance to buy a Reptile statue via PCS I probably will drop this line. I am not going to buy a Reptile on ebay for $9.999,99 later on (damn flippers :D). And who knows what PCS might do with the other characters you like to collect... (limit the other ninja's to 50?)

I wouldnt mind having three statues with the same sculpt but in different colors and different head sculpts. In MK2 there was no real difference between the ninja's (except colors and the position of the arms). But this line isnt dedicated to MK2...

Well I can think of an explanation: Ariel is damn fine looking, much better than a male thundercat :D Some collectors bought Ariel because of that, even though they are not familiar with the character and story (reffering to BornFree ;), see his videoreview of Ariel). I too am not familiar with Darkchylde but really considering to buy it anyway. Grew up with Thundercats but the need to get a Tygra statue isnt stronger (it's not even there) than getting Ariel.

While the UMK3 costumes look MUCH MUCH MUCH better than Mk1 or MK2 trashbags with one tone color, I still just don't understand the fascination with the Classics (at least most of them).

I understand the nostalgia of the game to some, but eewwww...I just don't like them.

This sounds like a good idea. The idea of a short, but sufficient time window would be a good system because it allows for a closer to optimal demand/supply. That benefits both PCSC and the collectors: more sales, but probably no overstock and everyone who's really interested gets a piece, but the piece will still be desirable later due to the short window.

5 minutes is way too long and the open window for items doesn't work in the limited collectible game. The e-mail system is fine the way it is but of course there will always be complainers no matter what. The " flipper " complaint is just an excuse, look at the black Chun-Li, only 75 of them made and only 3 sold on ebay since it was released and that is a great statue. Statues at this price should be limited, what Mondo did with it's Batman print was just a cash grab and many of them came out poorly printed.

I like that idea also, and to be honest I kinda like a little wait before an ES is announced because it adds to the anticipation of the order AFTER the order lol. As long as we're not talking months to years to come up with an ES (cough, sideshow) also small enough to keep the pieces rare....then I'm a happy camper and PCS will keep getting my money.

Because honestly Jerry, if I miss out on reptile Monday I'm going to be crushed! I consider myself a pretty avid MK fan and plan on getting every piece you put out. But if it means I have less than a 20% chance to collect them it's really gonna take the fun out of collecting this line.

I don't know if there's a group IM or something that could handle a large number of people at the same time, but the issue with email is there is a discrepancy between the time you send the email and the time it arrives.

We are talking about color pallet swapped costumes. The unmasked Sub Zero is the main Sub Zero of UMK 3 while the masked Sub Zero was just a hidden character that was kind of thrown in there. However, I bet there is enough love for the masked version to justify including him with this mold set. Better that than just another Scorpion as the exclusive with a little bonus.

Also..... us MK fans might actually appreciate that tbh seeing as pallete swapping was a huge thing early on in mk xD I would buy all 3 still, same sculpt different color.... true to old MK and also it would be technically a different character haha.

I know this isn't ur point - but it's been said a couple times about that sculpt from different people and I just want to chime in - I think that supposed Sub-Zero sculpt is actually the Scorpion statue (well.. at the time it was sub-zero). Could be wrong, but at the time it looked like it had the same musculature etc. If anything I think they may have decreased the muscle mass digitally. I think Jerry just (once again) listened to feedback, and given it was Scorpion's stance, made it Scorpion instead of Sub-Zero.. hence the reason for 2 Scorpion's released so close to eachother.. also hence the rush for comic-con.. so I think they're one and the same sculpt

Statues at this price should be limited, what Mondo did with it's Batman print was just a cash grab and many of them came out poorly printed.

I will try for it, but I am sure people will have these emails on autosend or something, so not keeping my hopes up, this Scorpion and Sub Zero were the only 3 I wanted from the classic line...actually from both the MK lines, so this can be a day of disappointment.

But Sagat PCSC EX for Sagat had like 500 requests or something like that Jerry said. You have to realize that a lot of the allure of these is that they are very limited, and it some cases it would work against against Jerry's favor (for example sub bust).

I hear that NASA is getting involved also, they apparently have built an X Wing fighter and will launch it at precisely 4 55 PM pacific time on Monday Nov 5th. It will be aimed directly at the Sun so photographs can be taken of it in front of the Sun as it sets.

So I just want to say I think it is pretty awesome.. Putting something rare out there.. Not just hyping it up, but I think this will be PCS's rarest piece (or character) yet.. I mean there are only 99 pcs of this character total. Vega CSC EX had 50pcs, but the ES of the character as a whole with all the versions was olot higher than that. So this is the only way to get classic Reptile - there is no regular version getting released. So yep it's going to be pretty rare. N I'm saying it now so it's not biased b/c I don't know if I'm one ofthe lucky ones yet or not

Jerry could have made more quite easily, but he's more thinking of the fans with this 1 I believe.. yet still think 99 gives those who really want it a good chance

Is it guaranteed that there will not be a Sideshow exclusive with a fully exposed Reptile head vs. the partially exposed head on this "PCS" exclusive? Or is that Jerry is saying that there will only be 99 Reptiles period?
