E, if you still have to discuss 1/4 scale with capcom, would you consider 1/4 action poses?
That sagat, ken and ryu shown so far as perfect. I would love to buy those action poses in 1/4 scale.

The intensity in the ryu statue is outstanding!

I'm confused, it says modelling kit. Does this mean I have to paint it myself? It looks great, but i'm not gonna waste my money if I know my useless talent is gonna be putting on the finishing touches. I was planning on getting all the original world warriors , but now it looks like i'm not gonna get even one :( The sculpt does look absolutely stunning though!

edit: just read the unassembled and unpainted bit. bleh.

these will have to be paid in full as they will ship within 30 days. The good news is that they will be available in a batch of 50 on the 8th, when those 50 sell out, the next batch will be put up once those orders have been completed and shipped.

These are being made all here in the US.

These look absolutely phenomenal! How much is it total for the kit and it to be painted? Is there a way I can find out about it? I haven't seen any update on the website. Of course I haven't checked in a month.:(

1/6 would be a very good scale for SF line for me I think.

1/6 would be a very good scale for SF line for me I think.

$225 for kit, $200 for a quality painted piece,$300 and up for paint master quality. I'm still not sure if the price tag for the paint includes assembly andlight-up features etc (I sure hope it does).

$224 unpainted. $200 additional for great paint job. $300 for master paints. So approx. $400-500 completed before tax/S&H.

tomorrow on their website, they'll have info on sagat.
sagat is around $225.00 unpainted.
info on ryu later on around $199.99. upainted.
painting will be $200 or you can hire someone from the forum to maybe cheaper. i think the lightup feature is extra. all the info on kit quality, size, etc are available a few pages back.

These are actually first generation prototypes so they maintain they're true 1/6th scale. So it usually means, 2-3 inches taller than Koto or Bowen pieces. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait for fans to do comparison pics. But it's been decided by the masses, that a DVD case will be good to use for scale. Thanks guys :thumbs2:

With Ryu planned for January, Ken and Blanka approved, and a super sexy Cammy in the works, one release a month is not bad.

But we do plan to make all characters since our license has expanded to the entire SF line.

It was an honor meeting the Producer, Ono san. I showed him images ( some translucent slides ) of my high school sculptures of Ryu and Blanka, and according to the translator he said " Tell him this is the best rendition of Ryu I have ever seen, he is capturing the spirit of the characters"... that made my year! Is Ryu's fireball finalized? I don't want to take the wind out of anyone's sails, but I feel like the fireball is lacking compared to the intensity of the hands it's coming from.

I mean Ryu is just full of power and energy, and there's this tiny little fireball coming from his hands. The face to face with Sagat really puts this into prospective. Judging by the intensity of both characters and the depiction of their fireballs about to come at each other, I'd say Sagat has a clear advantage.

I think it's the size if Ryu's Hadouken. It's underwhelming.

Hi Andrew,
Capcom wanted this to be true to the Street Fighter 2 game not the recent Marvel Vs Capcom or SF4 where his power is more intense. Once we release more characters, he can be redone as a new version from scratch :)

I definitely don't want it exaggerated like in MvC 3, but even in the below picture the Hadouken is bigger and looks more menacing.

I'm not trying to b!tch, just offer constructive criticism. Even Sagat doesn't have flames coming off his hands at the point he's in with his Tiger Shot in the game compared to the statue. But it works well to portray the poses intensity.

Edit: Sagat's Tiger Shot does have the flames at that point in SF 4. I was mistaken.

Noted... will bring this up with Capcom, but no promises, will do my best though.

What is the deal with Yoshinori Ono and the little Blanka he carries in almost all of his pictures? He just really like Blanka? It is some kind of his signature thing, it's kinda funny.
He came to me asking if I could glue it.. he must have broken it somehow... his heart was broken... once I fixed it, he went back to his ol' jolly self.

Will there be lights in the cracks (Ground)? I think it will make it more dramatic.
That would be more time consuming for Jorge (Fenix our caster), and for our painter to wire even more LED's electronic into the base. For now that is not an option, sorry.

You know what I else noticed about Ryu?......the pose. If you look at the game he always has a slight lean when he throws the hadoken, but with the sculpt he looks like he just threw his arms out while he was standing with his back straight and legs bent. When I buy this I'm gonna have to modify the pose a little. Other then that the sculpt is awesome.

Artsta
12-12-2012, 03:40 AM
I think the pose is fine, but that hadouken definitely needs to be bigger as Andrew stated. If it's not, I doubt I'll display him with it. And that thing isn't pegged so it can attach is it? The hadouken needs to be atleast the size of his torso. Of course if this means a later release then January, I'd say leave it as it is cause I WANT ONE!

Thanks guys for those pics! Amazing!

I like Ryu as is. Along with Sagat they are in a "I have just about charged" stance and in perfect pose. I also think that those sculpts would be less meaningful without those "plastic attachments". Consider also the fact that these are not copies from a frame of the game but artistic approaches of their similar presence ingame, so I want them as they are.

But then again I guess everyone has his own taste.

In any way, there wouldn't be a problem if we brought them on stage!

I have to know did you base his presence of of my favorite Udon/Street Fighter Artist Alvin Lee?

Jiggeh
12-12-2012, 07:55 AM
I agree completely about the hadouken effect... it just kind of sits between his palms and frankly it looks a little puny. Personally I think it might look cool if it engulfed his hands entirely, that way you could also incorporate the effect of Ryu's hands being visible inside the projectile itself, like you can see in the picture Andrew posted.

Seeing more pictures of the statue though there's quite a few things that bother me with it. :( The biggest issue is something Alucard mentioned as well, his stance just doesn't look nearly deep enough for the hadouken pose. Just look at pretty much any incarnation of the move (http://streetfighter.wikia.com/wiki/Hadoken), and you'll see he's always in a deep stance with his upper body leaning forward, and I'm just not seeing it in the sculpt.

Another thing I noticed is the angle of his hands. Again, looking at basically any version of the source material, when in the hadouken pose Ryu's hands are at a right angle with the palms facing each other, and often aligned more or less perfectly vertically. It's not as big an issue as the stance to me, but still something quite noticeable and definitely keeping it from looking like a "true" hadouken pose.

Here's some visual aid to show you what I mean:
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-hOxIFx6CQFI/UMhvEc9t05I/AAAAAAAAHWI/VShOIpST4iY/s800/hadoukenpose.gif

Please don't take this the wrong way... I think you guys are doing awesome work, and there's a lot about the Ryu sculpt that I really love. I realise it may also be too late to make these kinds of adjustments, but since you seem to be open to feedback, I want to share my opinions and contribute in any way I can to make these the best Street Fighter collectibles ever produced.

edit: Oh, and I'm happy to hear that Cammy is cutting in line :D Can't wait to see what she'll look like!

Ryu looks awesome. Now to decide if I want classic white color or Champion colors. I think the statue has a lot of artistic interpretation. He's far more fit and dramatic compared to the videogame version. Things are a bit different but he's still cool.

Maybe if there is ever a victory pose line we could get exact representations of the characters. But I'm fine with the Ryu I see right now.

thanks for the info good to know those can be removed! i am still deciding, this is a tough one since those are 1/6 not 1/4, they cant just blend in with the existing pcs pieces.

So essentially I have to start another line of sf if going ahead. But the plus side is the sculpt/paint are some of the best i have seen, so is the action pose.

the 1/6th scale line is pretty big, only because they are true to scale. the 1/4th scale is still sometime away, we gotta have a solid cast of SF characters in 1/6th first, before really looking into that line. But IF it does happen, they will be massive.

Erick and co, amazing job on all the statues you have shown us so far.

I think Sagat and Blanka look absolutely EPIC. There's nothing I would change.

For Ryu I agree with the guys. I think he could do with a tiny bit of tweaking in terms of the stance (leaning fwd into the hadoken more) and the size and spacing of the fireball itself.
It's like a 5% difference. But when something is this good you want it to be perfect.
Just my two cents.

This line is outstanding :thumbs2:

So converting centimeters into inches (to the tenth decimal point) and then dividing by twelve, you get;

Sagat: 7'4"

Oh, you can definitely tell that statue would be a lot taller if he was standing straight up! That would be way too tall to display in your average size case/shelf. Lol

By the way, T Hawk is 1 inch taller than Sagat @ 7'5"!

Ryu is 1.75 meters tall.
In real 1/6th should be
68.89764" inches
If you divide that by 6 as in 1/6th the result is:
11.48294 "
So I rounded it off to 11.5 inches tall if standing.

Sagat is:
2.26 meters tall or 88.97638 inches tall divided by 6 equals=
14.8293966667"
So I rounded him to 15" tall if he were standing... this guy is massive.
And since these are first generation copies you are getting, well.... the scale will remain untouched, virtually no shrinkage. So what you see is what you get :)
By the same conversion T. Hawk would be: 15.0918666667 inches tall... I'd say 15.1" :)

yes, and also his left eyebrow is all off.
The reason by hand the arms being slightly more connected to each other ( there's still a separation but it is not easy to see from that angle) is because the Fireball would have to be much, much bigger to close the gap between each palm, thus making the piece much more fragile, and prone to breakage.
But, let me see what we can come up with.
As for the leaning, I am afraid that would require me to re-sculpt/re-mold, plus this is what Capcom required from us.
I hear ya, but there's some stuff we have no control over :)

I think alot of nitpicking would be gone if they did 360 video previews for the statues, so people can get the whole picture. Alot of the time it's just a matter of how it looks from a specific angle. I agree though, This Ryu's essentially perfect, but I wouldn't mind a size increase in the fireball :p Pose doesn't bother me.

While true, that has always been the case with the games :p Pose him with a slight tilt, and there's not really an issue. Besides, how they pictured him is basically how I felt he,and all the other fighters in this line, should be displayed. Hell, print out a big wallpaper of Guile's Stage and you can really get some immersion going :p

Quick question regarding bases: How will these be done? I am very fond of Sagat and Ryu's bases: a simple Rock surface. I would love it if the 1/6 line would use rock surface bases and/or 'dojo' wooden floor bases. That way, you could easily add dynamism to the base without it becoming too busy. For example: with Akuma, where he is smashing his hand to the ground, you could have a wooden floor base and have smashed floor boards sticking up and out right where Akuma's hand is.

Looking at the PCS MK9 line - while I like the bases, it's just too much stuff. How this 1/6 line has handled bases so far has been very tasteful - I like it alot!

The focus is really more on the character, but we're not going the easy route and give you just a round base either. Our intention was to use an element of their stage from the game. But with Ryu and Sagat set-up, we might want them consistent. I'll leave that to our Art Director. :)

Hey Rainy, definitely on it. we have an FAQ, but mostly about assembly. I'll add some more through the weekend and maybe start an FAQ thread here as well.

Here's a quick summary: Our company sells model kits only, but we refer paint services to our in-house painter if its requested. We send the kit to the painter, and he invoices separately for the paint service and exact shipping to you. These are not polystone resin, so the pieces are heavy and sturdy, so they will be bubble wrapped.

While I work on the FAQ, feel free to keep asking questions. Either myself or the guys will definitely chime in. Thanks.

Not poly stone resin? What is it then?

Found this for you, bro;

...These are not 3rd or 4th generation castings made of Polystone which is basically Polyester resin and filler powder (Calcite stone), which I love as it is a cheaper material for production, but for limited production we are going with resin used for prototyping, Polyurethane... and yes it is more expensive, and for those that may think these will be light, trust me they are heavy, not rotocasted, 100% pure urethane resin, no fillers....Jorge hates using fillers, and I agree with him...

Just to make sure I understand, assume that I paid for Sagat/Ryu in full and asked you to painted than you will cast it------>send it to in house painter which I assume there is no shipping charges at this point------>Painter will assemble it------>paint it as per request----->quote/invoice me with the paint job & shipping charges------>I sent the painting & shipping payment, after confirmation------>you ship it to my address right?
Regarding the shipping you will bubble wrap it and put it inside a brown box right?
I bought a heave duty rotating table and the seller bubble wrapped it and sent it to me, but when I got it, it was broken near the side and half of it was outside the plastic.

No worries bro, ask away, I'll be here to answer and it's actually helpful since I can put them on our website for FAQ and help other SF/PrototypeZ fans as well.

You nailed down the workflow, but there is a shipping charge to the painter (he's in different state). In-house meant he works on our PrototypeZ kits for presentation/shows/etc. Once it makes it to ED, it's a private commission, and everything else you said is right on the money.

As for shipping, Ed has the experience, and your pieces will be well packaged. The original kit box will be included in that shipper as well for collectibility (edition number will be on the box).

We'll be strongly focused on customer service and as each situation arises, we'll give it 110% to make sure you are happy.

when we get the first casting, we'll send one to Ed for the master paints and see if it will work. So far the kits slated for release, has clear resin integrated into the sculpt, Blanka's base, Ken's Dragon punch. But i'm sure some some characters won't lend well to clear resin, like Zangief, T. Hawk, Balrog, etc.

2. How many pounds is Sagat and\or Ryu?
3. Will there be a color box that comes with the kit?
4. Is it hard to put it together? Any recommendation of glue that I should use?

These pieces are solid cast, so they have weight to them. Sagat is close to 7 lbs. Not sure yet about Ryu.

The packaging will be a matted black box with colored print on the top with the edition number on the box. The statue will have an edition number engraved in a plate on the bottom of the base.

Definitely not hard to assemble. I'll let the others chime in on the type of glue to use. But the pics of the website are of one that is glued without any primer. Hopefully, we can have tutorials up for assembly as well on the website.

instaCure glue is what i use for customs and kits. Good stuff. cures fast, doesnt create white residue on painted items like super glue does.

They also make insta-set that when you glue and then spray that onto it, it sets in a second. and it doesnt harm paint.
