I do not get SF statues, but Alex in my opinion is the best one I have seen done so far. I like it even better than Sagat, and I didn't think it was possible. The Ex. is the way to go on this one! Good luck to all who acquired one. This is smokin..:jawd:

I hope this does not happen later on to other pieces such as Shao Kahn otherwise this will lead to some serious problems for collectors in the future.

To be fair, you had people offering 1k for the EX immediately after the "sorry about your luck" emails went out, so it's really not that out of the question. I guess it just depends on how much you want something, how into a particular line you are, availability, and all of that. Just my take. :)

Alex is going to be a very special piece. Because IMHO, Jerry vastly underrated this characters importance and popularity in the Street Fighter universe.

Frankly, I was amazed to see such a low ES on such a popular character. (600/800 emails per min!??!)

And ES this size would have been more appropriate for Remy, Necro or Q.

Characters like Alex, Sodom, Rolento or Hugo etc etc etc are going to be *sleeper killers!*

And because his ES was so greatly underestimated, I believe he's going to achieve grail status by proxy/default. (It's a massively awesome sculpt anyway)

Anyhow, just my two cents.

Maybe, but Rolento is not as popular as say....

Ryu, Sagat, Honda or Chun Li. But he'd (rolento) still sell a bunch of statues. Certainly more than 175!

My point, Alex probably should have had a higher ES because he is at least above average popularity.

I would have inserted Rolento, but it's still too difficult to do his clothes propperly.
From the moment Jerry hinted on him I stopped everything immediately. But would have become a good commission in the pose I chose, wouldn't it? :thumbs2:

Alex is going to be a very special piece. Because IMHO, Jerry vastly underrated this characters importance and popularity in the Street Fighter universe.

Frankly, I was amazed to see such a low ES on such a popular character. (600/800 emails per min!??!)

And ES this size would have been more appropriate for Remy, Necro or Q.

Characters like Alex, Sodom, Rolento or Hugo etc etc etc are going to be *sleeper killers!*

And because his ES was so greatly underestimated, I believe he's going to achieve grail status by proxy/default. (It's a massively awesome sculpt anyway)

Anyhow, just my two cents.

I love street fighter 3 and if you look at my old post I did say its very popular - as most of the street fighter 3 characters even made it into the SF4 game -

Hugo - should be done next - We need a beast of a statue done By PCS as it would be great to see a statue of that build being made

or Oro

should be made next which will be awesome editions to any street fighter collection :thumbs2:

yep, send the 298. The discount is worth it IMO. You will get a confirmation in a day or two, if the time table is like Reptile's. Hope that helps. :)

Did anyone notice both the regular and exclusive have the same prepayment amount of $298? Shouldn't the reg, with a price of $340, be $289 after discount? The ex has a price tag of $350 so the $298 is right (technically, it should be $297.50). I emailed Jerry last night. Hope he can shed some light on this.

Jerry said this was an accident, and that if you paid "all in" with the reg, the extra 10 bucks or so will be deducted from the shipping cost. He'll be sending an email out later to clarify. :)

here's a weird fact about Elvis.

However, Dudley and Ibuki will be more popular due to exposure in SSF4 and SFxT. :)

Yeah thats true forgot about those with Alex lol. Just recently picked up Tatsunoko vs Capcom too so I haven't played it in a while. But I was just getting at that Kung Lao is way more popular than Alex and is essential to the MK legacy. Where as, if you left out Alex he wouldn't affect the Street Fighter continuity all that much. Liu Kang and Kung Lao missing from MK would be the same as leaving out Ryu and Ken. But to me Street Fighter is way superior than MK. Not to knock any MK fans, still love Mortal Kombat though.

Alex seems to be extremely important to the story during SF3. And as I've stated, they are chronologically the most recent three games.

He's also the last character to officially win a SF tournament. That means he's been the current/reining champion of SF since like 1997/99.

There seems to be a misconception with *everyone* (possibly including Jerry) about the popularity of this character.

I realize that the Statue Forum seems to be under the impression that the WW cast are the 'end all be all' of popularity, but Street Fighter has Millions of fans! Street Fighter 3 has a large following.

Jerry recieved over 800 emails (Sagat's entire ES) within minutes! People were trying to order from him DAYS in advance after seeing his article. Those were people with no idea about the low ES. They didn't have the inside scoop like we did. They just wanted Alex!

I agree the low ES was a huge incentive, but people keep making it sound like Alex is some no name 3rd string chump.

He's the Main Character of three SF games and reigning SF champion since the last game in 1999. (SF3 is after SF4 chronologically)

So I think if all the collectors willing to pay 500+ got theirs and the extreme hype is gone, prices eventually will drop again. Guile EX was on Ebay short after sold out for +1000 USD too (even after the raising of the ES). From the moment the prices were not payed for him he dropped drastically (of course I don't see Alex selling for that low ;)), so there is still the possibility :thumbs2:

The 175 were sold out within an hour or 2 and you could find them on Ebay right after that for those high prices.
Guile EX ES of 175 is in my opinion the same as Alex EX ES of 50 if you take into account the popularity.

Wow so Alex looks promising, even though he's not so popular. Guile has 800? Whao! I know it sounds still low but I checked guile ex today and he's going for under retail now. If I have a chance to get SS statues like ryu and Akuma during a revisit, hell I might start collecting this line ;) thanks again to Jerry for not kiliing the ES, fair price, and just keepingnthings exciting. Now I might get into this line. Can't wait to get a ryu, and Akuma revisit!

I don't think 185 is a few to go around. Look at when Gief came out. Yes he's a world warrior, but not the most popular of them but just like Alex, his sculpt is fantastic and with the ES of 350 for the regular, he's hard to come by now. I guess time will tell. :)

So now, not only does Alex have the lowest ES of any pcs ever made. But his regular ES is only the size of Shin Akuma.

And the low EX matches the CSC Green Vega.

And he's the first entirely pcs direct experiment. Good stuff for this statue:)

Should be Interesting to see if the reg Alex will be in demand since he is not Akuma or vega in popularity. Maybe it's just some hype going on now. Let's wait till after a few months from release date. A lot of people don't even know who Alex is. I didn't until I saw there was a preorder for it.

Yes qc I'm not too worried about because the item can be returned. With one exception the SS psylocke was a nightmare because the legs won't crack up u til months down the road. :banghead: but yes I admit ES is not the only thing but is very important to me on the not so popular characters in order to draw interests from me to want it.

Well remember eBay a lot of things sell at crazy prices, but that does not mean people will follow through by paying for it. It can go up to 5000.00 but doesnt mean they paid. eBay is full of deadbeats from my experiences.
