That's it. I'm trying to focus on characters and sculpts I really like/actually know, as well as sticking to 1/4 scale. Basically if the piece strays from that it'll have to be exceptionally good. I'm also trying to stick to just Street Fighter and 2000AD from PCS (I may want more lines BUT money does not grow on trees. So I have to pick and chose). Finally I want to fill in some missing older pieces from PCS and Sideshow (So I need to save for those too), *cough* Shin Akuma *cough*! :p

One startling thing I have realized is that after Batman, Iron Man and Superman, I don't plan to buy anything else from Sideshow. I have all the characters I like from them, so again unless something truly awesome comes out from Sideshow, it's PCS all the way.

Since these are all limited editions, Sideshow will be making them for years which means there is no rush to order them. Plus they are expensive pieces to boot. You could have waited until your order list wasn't so loaded to place your orders for these three pieces.

Well Wolverine LSF I ordered through AP Collectibles, retailer could only get a few LSFs, sideshow has a limit for them. I had to place my order quick otherwise I would not be able to get it at a discount price. It has been out of stock now through AP collectibles for a long time. I got it for $1,645 shipped which is the best price I could get.

For Galactus and Hulk Maquette, I put them on flex payments (the only 2 statues that I have on flexi from my list). The reason I went ahead and ordered them because during the 4th qtr of 2012 I only got 1 statue (Baroness PF EX), so I chose 5 months flex payment starting in Oct12. I have paid 3 out of 5 payments in 2012, so they don't hit my wallet too hard this year. If I got tons of statues during 4th qtr 2012 and Sideshow doesn't offer a flexi, I would have not ordered them.

But you are right in general for an Open ES statue it's best to wait and perhaps get it a lot cheaper in secondary market.

I can dig that reasoning. Flexi has saved my bacon several times over the years.

I'm pretty excited. I only have one statue and thats reg Joker PF. I also just recently bought a Ikea Besta so i'm looking forward to filling her up. I'm Planning on ordering more Klassic Mortal Kombat and all Batman related PF's with the possibility of Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Aquaman PF's. So glad I am very picky (Now, I wasn't as much when I started collecting), about what to buy. Otherwise I may have sold most of my organs by now to pay for everything!

I have 2 rules:
- The sculpt, details, paint etc have to look awesome to me
- I have to know/like the actual character. You could say have a connection to the character in some way. Perhaps I played as them in a video game, perhaps I grew up watching them in cartoons, perhaps I read the comics they are in. Whatever, the connection has to be personal.

It would take an truly exception piece for me to break rule number 2. I have found that my collection now means more to me and I have not gone bankrupt in the process.

I have bought a couple of more expensive statues from here or eBay (Ones that satisfy both rules though), BUT as I haven't wasted money on pieces that broke my rules, I can justify the purchases. Money does not grow on trees after all and we can't have everything ;)

Spare money is tight, and space is even tighter, so I can't see too many more pieces going on the list this year. Of course I have said that before...

I just turned 22 recently and i came to the realisation that i want to buy a condo for myself... so I decided to dial down my list. I don't make much per year and I don't want to have a huge collection like most on the forum. Gonna just stick to my fav characters and the koto xmen line for the next few years. Hopefully I cam get all the characters i love

I'm the same. I've said it before but I've adopted the less is more philosophy in my collecting habits. Since doing so I've enjoyed the hobby considerably more. If I collected like some of the members here I'd either be selling things constantly to accommodate new pieces or I'd reach my capacity and be out of the game altogether in a year or two.

I'm the same. I've said it before but I've adopted the less is more philosophy in my collecting habits. Since doing so I've enjoyed the hobby considerably more. If I collected like some of the members here I'd either be selling things constantly to accommodate new pieces or I'd reach my capacity and be out of the game altogether in a year or two.

Yes, that's what I've been doing I am too paranoid my collection room becomes clutter. And I agree less is more, I have to limit the number of statues in my room so it can look clean and nice.
