No need for panic. Sorry about the exclamation mark.

On the advice of the All-father, I am posting this link to my Bowen forum post concerning an electroplated custom Iron Man I have purchased.

My question is a simple one. How can I fix paint problems on an electroplated surface? The painter I showed it to all said they could not match the paint and the piece would have to be completed repainted and would lose its current distinct shine.

What are my options?

Thanks.

Please note that my digital camera is a cheap one and the pictures are only so good.

That looks nice. Even with it's flaws....it still looks mighty cool.

Unfortunately, there is little you can do other than have the piece stripped and redone. Even the most shiney of paint done not have the sheen of a chrome type metal. Sorry, I with I could have a better answer for you on this.

Agree w/ Danno. There's really no way paint can perfectly match the electroplated colors on 'ol Shellhead.

One option would be to strip him, then take him to an electroplating shop and have him re-plated and re-painted w/ transparent colors. Not sure how expensive this would be for you though, or if it's worth the PITA factor.
