Ordinary favorite comic covers from yesteryear

Not all comics from our past have been hailed as classics. I'm talking about your "Death of Phoenix" level of classic.
No, many/ some comics were ordinary, average, mediocre or even lame but for some reason you love the cover. It just pushes the right nostalgic buttons and it just brings back a flood of memories.

I just adore all these old B&W mag. covers & have managed to collect almost everything Curtis produced. Talk about Essential or Omnibus fodder. I'd love to see all these titles eventually collected into trades.

One of the weirdest comics, with a poorly written story and badly executed absurd art (bizarre proportions there on the cover!) but as a kid, I got excited seeing Wolverine on the cover (back when he was not overrated and overexposed)

This was one of my favorite comics as a young collector: Justice Machine Annual #1 (1983). It was my introduction to the THUNDER Agents and featured the first appearance of Bill Willingham's Elementals. The fact that Michael Golden did the wraparound cover and art for one story is a bonus:

That really was a great cover! Golden was really hitting his stride back then. Used to love Mike Gustovich's Justice Machine!

For sure. Mantlo and Golden's run on The Micronauts is one of my all-time favorites, and I bought anything I could find with his work - covers, pin-ups, whatever.

Same here with Golden. I would buy any book that featured a cover by him. Quite a few had interior art that I did'nt care for at the time,but those covers really hooked me in.

That's another great '80s title. There was a digest-size collection about 10 years ago, then nothing... Sure wish we could get more, as I love Dan Spiegle's work.
