Tbh...I'm glad this line is ending. Mk9 came out in 2011 and the game is deader than a door nail. This line should have been timed a little better imo. One near the start of the game and a few in the "meat" of the game and one or two near the end. The issue with mk game specific statues is the mk roster has different attire EVERY game so it's kind of a bad idea, unlike sf where they always wear their iconic garb

I was thinking the same thing, I've already accepted the fact that I'll probably be repairing it myself. Doesn't look like magnets will be an issue at least. I don't see any parts of the pose that might suggest they'll be fighting gravity.

Hopefully not but with loose magnets, I don't want things balancing. Loose magnets I can fix. Broken pieces, parts not sitting exactly where should be was something I didn't expect from PCS when I first started buying from them.

Yes I have, and TYM is like the gamefaqs of MK. If you are using that as your measuring stick for MK9 then it's no wonder you are so misinformed. There are still weekly streams of it, videos uploaded to youtube regularly, and a petition to get one final patch update for balance purposes since it's still being played.

I agree. I heard about MK9 before I saw the first E3 videos and all I could think of was how horrible the last gen MKs were (MKDA, MKD, MKA) Not only were they horrible games, but for every cool design we got 9 atrocious ones like grandpa Sub Zero, dinosaur Reptile, and Shredder Smoke wearing suspenders. MK9 pleasantly surprised me with their modern take on the characters. MK10 could very well be an awesome game, but I think if they do any redesigns it could be hit or miss with the costumes which in turn could leave us with some very underwhelming statues. I'm not too found of the Scorpion design in Injustice, so I'm a bit worried what MK10 might bring in that regard.

Only thing I don't like on the injustice Scorpion is the ridiculous looking swords above his shoulders and the shredder spikes on his wrist. Everything else about the design looks awesome. I really like the hooded look on him also, he looks much darker and sinister.

Plus it was the coolest new feature for MK9 subs. The ice sword is a must for this piece and I believe was a good choice to have it included.

Yea, it had breakage\packaging issues. Its more rare for this reason. Luckily I had no issues with mine.

IMO this will be in stock for a long time, bad timing for the mk9 line should have been in production during the heyday of mk9. The regular klassic line doesn't seem to be selling out either just the exclusives.

Jerry eluded to the ice ball , but in a later post he kinda back tracked about it. I'm not even sure how good that pose would work with the iceball. There would need to be 2 drastically different switch out arms for it which might screw up the proportions of his arms compared to the rest of the statue.

The sword is ok, he's had it for a while now and the MK9 design is definitely the best one imo.

Like the SF line Jerry seems to be always forced ( I'm guessing ) into using official art.

Luckily in this case the art is ----ing awesome and i have no doubt the statue will be.

Excited to see him painted and what the EX will be. PO is only a few weeks away so guessing we won't be waiting long.

I don't think it will be to hard at all. The ice hands, sword and ice ball are all clear blue resin...no painting required. The base is much of the same. All they gatta try to get right is the shade of blue and detail on the armour. Its doable.

I'm curious how the ice ball stays in place though. Theirs no magnets and they are not attached to the hands at all. Does it just balance between the hands with friction? I guess theirs slots in the hands for it to sit in?

Exactly what I was thinking! Why do companies hurt themselves by the making the EX better than the regulars? People would have bought the EX regardless of what it was so they can have their flipping/bragging rights. Do companies not want their regulars to sell well? Both switch outs are good, but It would have been a better business decision to make the Ice ball the regular piece, not the EX. Unfortunately, Balrog's got the same problem. :doh!:

Would it really have mattered what the EX was? The purpose for an EX for any company is to guarantee the sale of (x) number of units. The sale of any regular units are icing on the cake. If the EX was reversed with the reg it would make no difference what so ever.

Eventually everything sells out, even regs. Producers are aware regs will take much longer to sell, they are in no rush. The focus was on the the sell out of the EX the whole time.

So it is a smart business decision for us to make the PCS EX as desirable as possible to drive sales to OUR website and not others.

Really the main reason we still even make regulars is for marketing purposes. People are always discovering us through their local comic shop or online retailer.

If we didnt sell regulars to them those new customers would have never learned about us.

If both versions would have had the ice ball, I would have been happy accepting a Reg if I couldn't score an Ex.

Basically, instead of a guaranteed sale from a consumer such as myself, now it all depends on whether or not I am fortunate enough to land an Ex. With the strategy you just laid out, I am not sure how much that actually matters to you in the long run. I just felt I should express what I am sure is a concern for other like minded collectors.

They ARE attached to the hands. The Ice ball has a swirling effect with trails. Those trails connect to the hands.

If they were one piece you wouldn't be able to switch out the arms without breaking the ice ball connected to the hands. I think the ball just sits in grooves between the hands...as far as I can tell.
